I'm not sure if anyone else has had this happen to them, but I did in Charleston, SC this summer and it BURNS like a mother. Leaves huge welts in strips as well. It is NO JOKE.

 

Now...it isn't a shark bite, but it isn't a bee sting either.

 

I got stung on the, um, donkey two years ago. It felt like a large bee sting that wouldn't go away. The lifeguard had some spray that neutralized it though and it wasn't too bad after that.

Sadly, my entire extended family were all lining up and chugging water. I went with the vinegar and shaving cream approach however. 48 hours later there was no lingering pain but I still had strips of welts on my legs and abdomen.

The wife got stung by a jellyfish in St. Lucia on our honeymoon. Over a month later and the welts and laceration marks are still there. She was in excruciating pain for a while. Those things are no joke.

When I was doing the IM in PCB I had a minor sting on my face but it wasn't that bad. Just left a little mark but had no effect beyond that. Guess he didn't get me that good.
