My whole point was to try and dispel the notion that all Muslims are extremists. It's ludicrous to think, just as it's ludicrous to think that all Christians share the same whacko-bigoted beliefs as the Westboro lunatics.

 

Furthermore, mtn ref's response only added fuel to my overall point that the USA Today allowing this editorial is only going to make more and more people come to the same misguided conclusion that he has....That all Muslims are evil, blood-thirsty terrorists.

 

History has shown the Muslims are docile and tolerant until they reach critical mass in numbers in a country or region. Unfortunately the Islamic culture is completely anti-democracy and anti-a lot of things. Supposedly Spain was the great period of co-existence. Yet, in reality the Muslim dominated society relegated Christians to status similar to post civil war status for blacks in the South.

Any belief of long term co-existence of Islam and other faiths is problematic.
