January 7, 201511 yr Yes, and that's why I brought VY into the mix earlier. My comparison is mostly from the mental make up and lack of maturity. As I said, hopefully Jameis doesn't make those mistakes that VY did... It's a maturity thing and I think he lacks it as much if not more than VY did. Vince's maturity issues didn't surface - at least to the degree we think of him - until he was in the NFL for a few years. Kerry Collins' success the season Tennessee was so good was his ultimate undoing. In the right situation I thought Vince had the potential to have a decent career. Do not forget he was the rookie of the year. Jeff Fisher never wanted VY.

And Jameis will be drafted highly and probably have good success early on... I just don't have a good feeling about the kid panning out long-term. I'm 2 for 2 unfortunately... I argued with friends against VY and RG3 and I'm getting the same vibe about Jameis. All guys have different make ups and situations and there are different reasons why VY didn't pan out... And why RG3 so far hasn't panned out. I just have a gut feeling Jameis won't pan out. That's all... Nothing more. I can care less about throwing mechanics and scrambling, etc... The comparison is: maturity, leadership, adapting to the life of an NFL QB... Can Jameis do it? Time will tell.

January 7, 201511 yr Doesn't matter what the similarities or differences are... The thread is about projecting Jameis Winston in the NFL. My projection is that he will ultimately fall short of most people's expectations... Just as VY and RG3... Though RG3 still can possibly turn things around, but I doubt it.

You say you have no clue. I think there are many clues pointing to him not panning out. Such as, immaturity and the fact that he will probably land on a bad team that won't be in a position to allow him the time it'll take for him to develop in all aspects. Just my opinion, nothing wrong with you disagreeing either. We shall see... He will get 3-5 years of a chance at least.
