RAMS back to LA? Owner Building Stadium!!!

Rams owner Stan Kroenke reveals plans to build NFL stadium in LA area - CBSSports.com

Los Angeles hasn't had an NFL team since 1994, but that might change soon now that St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke has revealed plans to build an NFL stadium in the area.

Kroenke's real estate development firm, the Kroenke Group, and Stockbridge Capital Group told the Los Angeles Times of their partnership to build an 80,000-seat stadium in Inglewood, Calif. The stadium would be built on a 60-acre parcel of land, which Kroenke purchased in early 2014, that's adjacent to the Forum, the former home of the Lakers and Kings.

Stockbridge owns Hollywood Park racetrack, which is adjacent to Kroenke's land. The racetrack, which ceased operations in late 2013, would provide the space for parking Kroenke needs to make the stadium bid viable. The partnership, called the City of Champions Revitalization Project, also has plans for a 6,000-seat performance venue.

"We are excited to unveil an expanded plan that will bring a world-class sports and entertainment district to Hollywood Park," Terry Fancher, founder of Stockbridge, said in a statement. "We are committed to working with [the Kroenke Group] to build a project that will put Inglewood back on the map as home of the truly great sports and entertainment venues."

The announcement doesn't necessarily mean that the Rams will be moving to Los Angeles. The Rams are negotiating with the city of St. Louis over enhancements to the Edward Jones Dome, which the team has occupied since the middle of the 1995 season. The Rams have until Jan. 28 to inform the city if they will convert their lease to a year-to-year setup.

Just before Christmas, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell told all 32 NFL teams that no team would be allowed to move to Los Angeles for the 2015 season. The Rams, San Diego Chargers and Oakland Raiders are all teams that used to play in Los Angeles and are unhappy with their current stadiums.

The developers said the stadium could be completed by 2018. Any team wishing to occupy it would probably have to spend at least one season at an alternate site like the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum or the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

The project, which would come at no cost to taxpayers, would be subject to a referendum by Inglewood voters sometime in 2015, and any team's move there must be approved by three-fourths of the NFL's owners.

Look's like that even though it's not been officially announced the Rams will be coming home to LA sometime in the next couple of years.

I'd leave St. Louis too after all that happens there.

Can we send the Bengals to LA and the Rams here? We can simply just swap names. Bring the St Louis team and organzation here and we will change the name to Bengals and we will send our franchise to LA and change the name to Rams

Yes, it sucks.

The dome that they are in is around 20 years old but they still want a new one.

This will never happen. No need to worry about it.

I'd actually love to see the Bengals leave Cincinnati. It would be hilarious to watch the Bengals fans who complain about everything no longer have a team. What would they complain about then? :idunno:

Oh I know this. There is a 0 chance the Jaguars leave Jacksonville but then again there are still people out there that want Tebow as their QB.

Off-topic, and I know it won't happen, but you can't tell me that Tebow wouldn't have been a better option than the scrub the Cardinals ran out there Saturday. The fact that he isn't on a roster (not starting, just on a roster) and some of the crap players like Lindley are, boggles my mind.

Tebow seems like a very good person. He just doesnt seem to be a very good NFL player. The media didn't do him any favors though imo. Many teams probably don't want the circus that comes with Tebow.

Without throwing this thread completly off topic I did hear hear Skip Bayless make a funny quote. He said "how is this guy even a starting QB in the NFL, better yet how was even a starting QB in college?"

Not having an NFL team of course.

See Michael Sam.

Tebow may have prayed himself out of the NFL, unfortunately. The spotlight ruined his career.
