Why do you think he's wrong?

Maybe some of the commits are under ranked or underrated that we don't know about. I think he means that he himself has been there for.

That is crazy to think that Charlie never had a class ranked above 30? Is that right?

The Bridgewater class was 29th.

Strong worked well with a ton of guys that were three stars. Preston Brown, Marcus Smith, Calvin Pryor, etc.

Yes.

The other guy in Louisville's two tight end sets, Keith Towbridge, is a sophomore. I believe Petrino also has a highly-regarded JuCo guy coming in next year at the position.

Christian is a beast. Guessing he be playing on Sundays next year

Yes he is. Surprisingly underutilized this year as Petrino typically loves using the heck out of tight ends. Probably has a lot to do with mediocre quarterbacking and terrible offensive line play.

According to 247Sports, Louisville is 32nd with all 25 commits being 3 stars.

Kentucky is 29th with 13 3 stars and 4 4 stars (not to mention the last 5 or 6 commits to finish out UK's class, whereas Louisville is basically done as 25 commits is usually how many recruits teams take a year)

Add in Damien Harris, Marcus Lewis, and Tavin Richardson for UK, and the class jumps to 21st using the Class Calculator.

2015 Football Recruiting Team Rankings

Louisville class calculator (you can add recruits to see where class ends up but Louisville's class is basically over): 2015 Football Commits

Kentucky class calculator (add in 5-7 commits such as Harris, Lewis, and Richardson, plus more, etc.): 2015 Football Commits

It might be Louisville's best class with Petrino, but I doubt it is their best class.

Not really sure what UK has to do with Louisville's recruiting class... :idunno:

UK finds its way into every UofL thread. Always. It's a law of BGP.

Completely irrelevant to the conversation.

Just read a comparison someone had on Facebook about last night's game and Bobby Petrino's first bowl game at UofL in which we were mercilessly pummeled by Miami University and Big Ben Roethlisberger. Feels a bit like that from last night with Chubb substituting as Big Ben.

Petrino would go on to beat No. 9 Boise State in the Liberty Bowl the next season, lose to cheating Marcus Vick and No. 12 Va Tech in the Gator bowl in January of 2006 and then win the Big East and the Orange Bowl in his last season at UofL. Things got pretty good for Petrino and the Cardinals after taking a real beating in that first bowl game.

I'm still mad at VT for keeping Marcus Vick on the team long enough to beat Louisville in that bowl game and then throwing him off the team basically the next day.

I was in the band for the Liberty Bowl, the Gator Bowl, and the Orange Bowl... Good times.

As a completely irrelevant aside:

Did any bowl get hosed as much through bowl selection realignment as the Gator Bowl? That used to be the No. 2 team in the Big East vs. the No. 2 team in the ACC in the early afternoon on New Year's Day.

Now it's 7-5 Iowa vs. 6-6 Tennessee on a random Friday afternoon.

Gross.

Yeah, that used to be a good bowl game to be in...

I don't even think Maudlin was ranked coming out of high school. I will bring UK back in to compare Maudlin and Dupree. Both low ranked guys coming in who now have NFL talent. Both from GA too I believe.
