That would be very bad as Ohmer is only a sophomore and personal correspondence such as phone calls; texts and emails are not permissable until June 15 after his sophomore year. All he is permitted to receive now is general camp info.

Just confirmed with Ohmer's dad that he has had zero interest or communications with the schools that were listed.

Ohmer is receiving mail like most kids in his position for camps, but that's it. The kid doesn't even know which sport he wants to play in college yet.

 

He'll either be a really good college shortstop or play basketball at the D2 level...if he grows, something bigger could come his way.

Watched him again last night, albeit not a 51 point performance. Reminds me of Brandon Hatton in a lot of ways

Be careful. You're talking about an elite 9th region play (even as a soph). Ohmer is very talented but he's not yet at that BH level.

Ohmer is a very nice player and barring something catastrophic will leave Scott as it's all time leading scorer by a wide margin. However, by the time Hatton was a soph he had already dropped his first thousand and been a major contributor on a Sweet 16 team. In addition to his high school exploits he had already established himself as a very good player on an elite AAU level.

 

Give Ohmer some time but that is not a fair comparison at this moment.
