Once again we see that just winning the final game has a big influence on the MVP. The formats are usually set. It would have taken a performance like Richie Farmer for Terry to win the award. I will have to say though it was pretty close.

Where are the usual Rose Hill posters? There are a few on the POY thread, rallying for their competitors. Don't they have an opinion on this question?

In the modern history of the Girls Tournament it has happened twice, that the MVP was from the runner-up.

 

How many people believe that if the situation was reversed and the Lady Knights lost and it was a Lex Cath girl that performed as Terry did in the tournament that she would have received it?

 

Many Lex Cath fans would say no. There is a colletive feeling of bias against us sometimes as well. We are the public/private debate instigators, remember.

I understand that there is a big contingent out there that disagrees with Lex Cath and the way things are. But this was a Lexington Newpaper that awarded the trophy to a Lexington Player.

 

As a Knights fan, if you saw the tournament, or if you look at the Stats I posted of the two players, could you see that possibly the Terry girl was Most Valuable?

Ask yourself this question...Could LexCath been in & won the championship without Snowden...My guess is yes...

 

Could Rose Hill have made it to the finals without Laura Terry...My guess is no...

 

To me, that makes her the Most Valuable in addition to the Most Outstanding player in the tournament...I saw every game of the state tournament...NO ONE had a better tournament than Laura...I really enjoyed watching her play...:thumb:

 

Obviously I would have liked to have been playing last week but the best team from our region was there & represented the 16th region better than anyone other than West Carter has ever done...Congratulations!!! I enjoyed sitting behind Pam Euton's mom & Mrs Garnes at several of the games...Can I see your tickets please!! I'm sure I stuck out in the middle of the Rose Hill faithful but those were actually my assigned seats for the entire tournament...Those 2 in particular & all the Rose Hill fans I spoke to were very cordial and did not treat me like "the enemy"...I really appreciate that!!! It's hard not to wish good people like that the best...To the Garnes', hang in there...I truly feel your pain :cry: :cry: ...Continue to carry David's torch just as I do Patrick's...We'll take their spirits with us the rest of our lives with the hope of hugging them again someday...In the meantime, they are our guardian angels...

Just reading over these and my 2 cents is that it doesn't matter if it is boys or girls, the MVP doesn't necessarily have to come from the winning team. I can certainly see and agree with TBF's point about the "little school syndrome".

I like the idea of a MOP (most outstanding player ) and a MVP (most valuable player). I definitely could see Ms. Terry as MOP without a doubt. I also believe that could have been the case in the All A Classic with Angela Roof (St. Mary) as the MOP and Kenzie Rich (Monroe Co. ) as the MVP. Just a thought.

I should have said earlier, I do agree with you some, Snowden has a great supporting cast(as did Terry) but might be called on less sometimes to really lead her team. If its any consolation, many Lex Cath fans had only praise for her after the game. She was said to be quite impressive.
