I wasn't a big fan either until I finally sat down and watched it from the beginning to the end. Over the years I had tuned in in the middle several times and just didn't really think much of it. Same with Miracle for that matter but once I committed to watching both, they became two of my favorites.

They are old movies without all the fast paced dialogue and special effects that are the norm today. So for anyone who has never watched them before, they have to do just what you did---sit down and commit to watching from beginning to end.

I doubt I will ever get my kids to sit and watch them. It's a shame really because "It's a Wonderful Life" has a powerful message.

I like watching the Miracle on 34th Street as a Christmas movie first. I like It's A Wonderful Life as my New Year's movie. Both are classics of course.

I won't watch either one if they are colorized! :ohbrother:
