I blame Mike Flynn.;)

That is the most asinine statement Ive seen on here in a while. Ashland basketball couldnt have been in better hands than for those years that Mike Flynn was the Coach. One of the most well versed coaches who who played and won by playing the style that fit his talent at Warren Central, Holmes and Ashland.

Dude, I'm fairly certain that post was laced with sarcasm. Relax.

Well "Dude" I'm fairly certain at my age we old guys dont guess when it comes to taking up for a friend and colleague. We "relax" knowing we've got each others back because Lord knows no one else does.

Totally agree. The games that had to be moved to Boyd County just to accomodate the crowd. The OJ Mayo madness was fantastic.

The tripple overtime game for the district championship was insane. Both teams left it all on the court that night.

Flynn was a great coach and a likeable person. Honestly I don't think any Tomcat fans had any issues with Mike Flynn. He had some great teams and even when he didn't, he still found a way to win games he shouldn't have.

The Ashland/Rose Hill games in 2002 (I believe) for instance. Ashland had a great team, but Rose Hill trumped them in talent for sure, yet Flynn found a way to split the four games with them, winning the two that counted most.

Well then Methusela, you should interpret what the little sarcastic emoticon after the post was for. I'd say every Ashland fan would love to revisit those seasons about now.

So, you can put the antennae down. No harm was meant.

I have to say, Coach Flynn said something to my son when they played against Highlands that may have been one of the classiest comments/compliments he ever received. I have always been a Flynn fan.

 WOW!!! That is all I can say... Oh, and congrats to Greenup County on the win.

Ashland plays Eastern in Best of Hoops today. With all due respect to them, I don't see them winning any of the next 3. Perhaps I'm wrong. But that would stick them at 0-9 heading into their own tourney.

What doe Covington Holy Cross have?

Sorry.:idunno:

No harm to me buddy. No pun intended for the Buddy reference either. Ashland has only 7 winnable games at this point Russell (2) Rose Hill (2) Fairview (2) and West Carter. I dont know anything about Holy Cross, Ironton, or Spring valley. If Biggs wins 10 games with the cards he has to play with, he should be coach of the year.

I would think a split with Russell and Fairview is likely. The Tomcats have had little luck historically against Ironton and Spring Valley. Could they really be looking at winning less than 5 games?! Unbelievable.
