Simon Traded to Detroit Tigers

Right. The same as Cozart over an entire season. I think he could be as good but definitely isn't there yet.

I remember watching a 4 hop, 55mph groundball go between his legs. Lack. Of. Focus.

Not even close Meat. 10 Es in 147 games for Cozart in 2014. 14 Es in 150 games in 2013. If you want Cozart replaced, at least give correct stats.

Huh? Suarez had 10 errors in 70 games and Cozart had 10 errors over the course of an entire season. Hence the, "he could be as good but definitely isn't there yet". That entire post was about Suarez.

I'm fine with Cozart defensively. Him and BP are a great MIF combo.

That's what he just said.. 10 Es in 70 games for Suarez = "the same as Cozart over an entire season (147)."

Great trade for us.....

Wasn't he saying that he made as many errors in 70 games as Cozart did in a full season? That's the way I read it.

Apologies to Crash. I read it wrong. I read it as Suarez' "run rate" of 10 Es per 70 games was the same as Cozart's "run rate" over an entire season (i.e., 20). When I looked it up and he only had 10 for 147, I thought Cozart was being wrongly convicted.

Mea culpa.

I could see how you did that. :thumb:

Big fan of this trade. I think Suarez has a shot to become the everyday SS. His MLB offensive numbers aren't that great, but he clearly hits minor league pitching VERY well. I think he has some serious potential.

I also like Crawford. First round pick, solid numbers in his first season.

When you consider what the Reds paid for Simon, it's a great deal. Hopefully one or both of these guys pan out.

@jcrasnick: #Tigers initially resisted trading Eugenio Suarez. Included him in Simon deal when #reds asked for prospects Detroit really liked.

I don't mind this trade at all. What's up with C. Trent's handle, Ralph?
