You may be onto something here. It could explain why he's been in his position as long as he has — Mikey's paying money on the side into secret accounts to satisfy an unpublished "clause" in Marvin's contract to be the devious spinmeister and lightning rod to take the focus off all the players' legal issues and Mikey's incompetence, all while maintaining a bumbling persona.
