There is always someone under the radar who has a good tryout. We'll call these players the darkhorse picks. Who could be a darkhorse this year?

If Lawrence Co's Shawn Thompson gets a tryout then he could be a darkhorse. He is probably the best player that the rest of the state doesn't know about. I think he had 26 points and 22 rebounds his last home game and that was against at the time the number 1 team in the Region. He averaged a double double for the year I think.

Here is my team, it has alot to do with the players I've seen play over the past years and not as much to do with players that will have a good shot against Indiana boys. KY hardly ever wins anyways so we might as well go with the kids that have worked hard and deserve it.

Arron Dunaway-Henry Clay

Doug Denton-Apollo

Tim Tierney-CovCath

Randon Cavette-Graves Co

Zach Sims-Graves Co

Mikah Turner-Mason Co

Vincent Crutcher-PRP

Walt Allen-Scott Co

Troy Frazier-PRP

Jeff Vories-Highlands

Jay Ivey-OCATH

Pat Elliot-Pendleton Co

Tyler Mains-Pendleton Co

I think Owens from Boyd Co. has to be on the team.

I think Owens from Boyd Co. has to be on the team.

:thumb: most definitely, esp after leading the state in scoring and being named MVP for the East at the all star game. Owens is a very tough matchup for anyone guarding him, and KY will need players like that because Indiana is flat out good this year.

Then you boasted how your team beats anyone else's

Your team doesn't beat one with Slaughter, Owens, Mack, Stallworth, and Buckner.

In these all star games I think they only play with 1 ball. I might be wrong, because I've only been to one.

Buckner / Eastern G

Dunaway / Henry Clay G

Owens / Boyd G

Slaughter / Shelby G

Mack / UHA G

Allen / S Laural F

Gilbert / Wolfe F

Stallworth / John Hardin F

Crutcher / PRP C

Elliott / Pendleton C

Ivey / Owensboro Cath C

Staed / Boyle C

moving target

Looks pretty good, you'll have some players cut that you wouldn't expect to be, and they'll be some players make the team that you wouldn't expect, But alot of players make it on names just alone. It happens every year. But thats a solid list of talent.

Turner will make the team if Tim Riley is coach.

Your right, you need to pick a few hard nosed role players that have the heart and will do anything to beat Indiana. A Patrick Sparks.

NKY your a little bias on this, no way Timmy T is one of 12 or so best Seniors in the state.

I haven't seen stallworth so i have no say on him. But this team I made up is my team. As I stated it has alot to do with the players I've seen play over the past years and not as much to do with players that will have a good shot against Indiana boys. None of these players are selfish and ball hogs. None of these players average 20ppg. None of these players don't get back on defense. None of these players are affraid to get on the floor and fight for a ball. None of these players have bad attitudes. To me thats what the team is all about I came up with. My guess would be that my team would beat your team of top 15 scorers in the state anyday of the week.

NKY I usually back you on most posts. But in this game KY needs the best talent they can find, Indiana always has more talent than us out there.

I would expect Cedric Ware has a good chance to make it, if J-town's coach has a say.

Leroy Nobles might be a name to watch. I haven't seen him play, and he doesn't get much mention on here, but I've heard good things from him.

Look I said nothing about this team being THE All-Star that will be chosen. I said after watching these players all season and some of these players down state that this would be MY team. No one understands that I guess. This is Not even some of the boys who will get a try out. But this is my team, that I chose. I never said they would compete with Indiana or Ohio, but this is the team I chose.
