The Big Guy seems to be interested in out of State teams on his site...:thumb:

 

I think it would be really cool to see CC win the Big school Championship in Fl where National experts have reminded us all for yrs that the best HS football is in Fl. It helps confirm that KY HS football can play with arguably the best HS football state in America.

 

It is interesting because Highlands is a very good team this yr but they are not a great Highlands team from top to bottom like the 2009 team and had Hoge not gone out of the game after the 1st series of the game and not return until the last series before half Highlands may have won that game with an "mediocre team" lol.

 

Either way, it helps the naysayers understand that KY plays some pretty good football and when they say National rankings are a joke then perhaps this proves some people wrong and they should take the blinders off themselves...

 

Bottom line, programs like Highladns / T / Bowling Green (did that for PP92:thumb:) are putting KY hs football on the map and people are taking notice whether its T winning a mythical National Championship to BG awesome win streak run to Highlands being a household name because of the history of the program to their QB recently being the top play on SC for "The Run".

 

All of this is good stuff for KY hs football especially with all the crap that goes on in society today...

 

Call me arrogant, call me an elitist, call me one of those obnoxious Highlands fans that is sensitive when anyone questions Highlands...Doesn't really matter because the facts, the numbers and the success of KY football is beginning to pile up and if other programs want to reap the benefits then they must take notice, pay attention and practice what the successful programs are doing if they want to help take their programs to another level and if that means playing teams from outside of KY to gain exposure then great for them...JMO :thumb:

I agree with everything you say and I will tell you the one pet peeve I have and you touched on it in your post but no matter what happens it will continue to be ignored and that is this.

 

You mentioned how how this should show how good KY football really is compared to other states especially if CC wins the title. Yet no matter what happens there will always be those and even members on here that will continue to ignore how good Ky football is. They will always say ky football doesn't come close to other states even with nothing to back their stance up.

 

That at has always been my pet peeve. How KY football is always dismissed even when ky schools beat some of the best in other states thAt are thought of as being the best HS football.

I think it would take more teams from KY venturing out to play solid out of state teams before we would get more respect. We have programs that can compete with like size schools.

As you can read in the previous posts, some have encouraged me to continue posting about FL. football. LOL!! Have a nice day.

One issue though is financial

a lot of schools can't afford to go to Florida etc to at. Also I don't think it really matters if a school goes out of state to play because at the same time

there will always be those that say they are avoiding in state schools etc. Just becomes a

childish game

of finger pointing when in the end it really doesn't matter. Like I said I hate when peoe

say TX or Fla football is better when there isn't an ounce of proof to back it up.

 

Every state will have its good teams

but at the same time those states also have their fair share of bad teams, just like KY. For every Moeller or Cin St X there are also their fair share of Grant Co's etc.

Thought I would start a thread instead of posting on the Highlands thread. I'm sure no one cares about CC except for Bird fans. For those who thought that CC would lose in the first round of the playoffs in Florida, well, you were wrong.

 

Columbus (FL) blanks Coral Gables in regional football semifinal. CC advances to the regional finals for the third time in the last four years.

 

Columbus held Gables to 116 total yards including 27 yards rushing and 5 first downs. :scared:

Highlands scored 34 points against this team, great showing for the Birds. :thumb:
