There's a good chance that South Warren erases this disappointment next year. 4A is ripe for the picking.

 

I think they'll be good next year, but they'll literally be in a whole different league. I think playing better competition week in and week out will take a toll on them. The teams they play next year will do a better job game planning for them and will be more capable of matching their athletes. This year no one challenged SW enough to even provide good tape for opposing teams. I don't think that'll be the case next year.

Instead of taking it's toll, playing tougher competition likely will make them better prepared for a playoff run.

I guess we'll see. Logic is certainly on your side seeing how SW is so young and returns so much, I just believe their a puzzle that no one in their region could solve this year, I don't think that'll be the case next year. I'm on record saying this will be known as the glory year for SW...

It'll be fun to watch it play out.

How many of the teams in their way really throw? Johnson Central runs it. John Hardin runs it. For the most part Franklin-Simpson runs it. Warren East runs it. Madisonville runs it. Warren Central became a throwing team this year but can they protect?

 

Central may have won last night but they never really got loose on offense outside of one play. That one 60 yard run was more than the rest of their ground game combined. The Spartans actually outgained them and still only lost by 2 despite getting destroyed in the turnover battle. The entire defense returns next year. Every last one of them from what I've seen. If you want to beat them you'd better be able to throw and you'd better find a way to pass protect too.

 

You can bet Jerry Lucas and the Collins Titans will throw the ball. I'm not sure how good they will be next year, but they will be improved.

Both. They do whatever they have to do to move the ball.

South Warren ran quite a bit out of a spread formation. The quarterback was the best running threat. They did get in the I a few times.

 

Central threw a little bit of everything: short outs, slants, deep passes, even a halfback pass that was perfect but the receiver quit running on it causing the throw to go about two yards over his head.
