I'm hearing Lovelace.

 

I know he expressed interest a couple of years before when Haskins was hired.

Good football coach hate to see him retire.

Lovelace should be free to talk to McCracken after Friday's night when Christian losses to Graves. That's kind of ironic McCracken lost to Graves also...

I know it would never happen, but I would love to see what Joe Morris could do at McCracken. I've heard a couple of names but it is purely speculation. There's no one on the current staff that would be a capable replacement so they'll have to go outside the the system.

 

As MCMustangs stated it would be interesting to see what Morris could do at McCracken. I think this job would generate some big names interested. The biggest name would be Morris but with him being AD and coach not sure if McCracken would match his salary, if he was interested?? I don't see Garrett hiring a coach without any head coaching experience. Do they have a quality coach on staff now that would be a possible candidate?

I think Rogers is a great coach but would he leave Tilghman after 1 year? Could this possibly be a landing spot to bring Lovelace back to the area?

Did all the dirty work...do what? He was handed what is by far and away the nicest facility in WKY...heck, probably the nicest facility not named Trinity...

 

...and what did he build? A first round loser of a team with a DI-A athlete at QB and multiple college level players on the field? A single playoff win? A 1-1 record against a Class A team with a 6A school? a 1-1 record against a 3A team with a 6A team? Come on.

 

I lauded his accomplishments of a career but given what he has had the last two years at McCracken, saying that his time there has been anything but a disappointment is avoiding the obvious.

Gotta say I don't agree here. Great job? All I see he did was lead a talented yet undisciplined team to a lackluster performance and get beat in the first round with questionable play calls. I don't see that he did any dirty work..condoned his players PLAYING dirty? Ill give you that one...

Is that the guy from Massac? I thought that was the guy who was basically the "coach in waiting".

Glass was brought over from Metropolis and immediately "adopted" a star running back from his old school whom subsequently was ruled immediately eligible to play at McCracken by the KHSAA .

That was one of the most glaring instances of-

Anytime you start up a new program its a dirty job and a lot of extra work. He also put in place a blue print that he felt could eventually could lead the Stangs to success in 6A. A big problem for schools at this level is quality depth and to get depth you need numbers. To keep interest high and numbers up he adopted a schedule for the frosh and jv teams that play the likes of Trinty, X, MBA and others with the hope of keeping more kids interested and creating more depth. He hopes that whoever is selected as the next coach will continue to try and do things like this to keep the numbers up and develop depth needed to compete at this level. I do agree that some of the play calling decisions and such have made me scratch my head but he has a proven track record as being a great coach and at every stop he had his work cut out for him. A hear some say they think MC will not try to hard to on the football side and may try and be more basketball focused. They must make room for finding teaching jobs for their assistance something they don't appear interested in doing.

1.) Allowing freshmen to play JV over soph & juniors (varsity subs) does not promote depth. They end up quitting.

2.) Credit goes to Coach White (freshmen) for the schedule. As well as the varsity game against Southaven, MS.
