CFB Playoff Rankings 11/11/14

Featured Replies

I do not think Marshall deserves a playoff spot I was just telling you about the OSU csonspiracy. The only reason Minnesota is in the playoff poll is to improve the OSU strength of schedule.

Lol. Doesn't happen that way anymore, committee looks at it weekly. Nebraska dropped three spots without playing because their best loss to MSU now has 2 losses, just like OSU will if Sparty loses again. Rankings at time of game are irrelevant. If OSU beats the Gophers, they will drop right back out of T25 and win will be lessened.

You are taking a shot at the committee in one breath for potentially dropping FSU from the top 4, then in the other saying should not be favored against Miami. If they should not be favored this weekend (which they should be, Miami is just ok), you can argue they do not deserve to be in the top 4.

They haven't played Miami yet and to date FSU should be #2. No way should a one loss Oregon be above an undefeated FSU. No way.

The Miami game is at Miami and anyone paying attention in college football knows Miami is playing their best football right now.

FSU is favored by 2.5 points I believe at the moment. The point I am trying to make more than anything is that FSU can defeat Miami but that won't be seen as a quality win because of the perception that Miami isn't that good. Which is false. Miami is pretty good.

I am an Ohio State fan so I am looking for ways to get them in to the top 4. Oregon and Arizona State will play in the Pac 12 Championship, eliminating one of them. That would move OSU to 7th. I do not believe the committee will put both TCU and Baylor in the final four because they won't want two Big 12 teams. They want to split the revenue between conferences a little better than that.

So that moves OSU to 6th in my mind. The remaining options are: Bama lose to Miss St., Miss. St. lose to Bama and Ole Miss, FSU lose to Miami, Arizona State lose to Arizona but then beat Oregon. Would some combination of these be enough to move the Buckeyes to the top 4?

Conspiracy?

On the field of battle, the first place team in the SEC East (Missouri) lost AT HOME to the last place team in the Big Ten East (Indiana).

No conspiracy here.

Arizona state and Auburn are eliminated if they weren't already. I would rank them:

1. Alabama

2. Florida State

3. Oregon

4. Mississippi State

5. Baylor

6. TCU

7. Ohio State (regrettably)

8. Georgia

Noles go back to #1 26 straight wins.
