It hurt because Cooper is terrible just like our offense was to start the season, I may be wrong but I think they lost convincingly to every quality opponent they played. You never want to start your season with a hometown loss especially against a team like Coopers this season. JMO

 

Quality opponents compared to who? Least this game is on turf so you can't cry about how your football team had to play on a wet field. I mean it is football right where teams play in snow and mud?

How about just saying you got beat by the better team. Yes maybe the star athletes were out or your team was starting a new scheme but there are still plenty of other players who want to play out there.

Cooper played Campbell , Dixie, SK, and gave up 100+points and scored 2 touchdowns. I you really saying that's a quality team? Agree to dis agree. We deserved to lose game 1 without a doubt but that doesn't mean your Jags are a quality team. Sorry again JMO

I believe you were the one crying about cooper's field as if that was the reason Ryle lost lol. So if you're saying Cooper isn't good, what does that make Ryle? A team that lost by 2 scores to a horrible Cooper team.

 

You claim Ryles offense was the reason you lost that game because they were bad yet you seem to forget that our offense was brand new with all but 2 players new to the offense and first time starters. Your defense was what lost the game for you no tyour offense. Your defense which is so great according to you gave up over 100 yards rushing to Cordell-Armstrong that game. Simply put Cooper was and is the better team.

 

Oh, by the way, Ryle lost to Dixie, Bryan Station and Scott Co. giving up 113 points. I guess you forgot about that, do you need a reminder on other scores too....such as Sycamore?

First of all...when you give up 100 yards rushing but only 30 yards passing, thats still not a ton of production by the offense. That game was a defensive battle with poor offense mixed in. Cooper got the most points, end of story...That was months ago, Round 2 of playoffs are all that counts.

I agree, It just bothers me when someone like Why O Why who is new to this site is so butt hurt that Cooper beat Ryle he spends his time trashing the team that beat his and uses lame excuses along the way to do so. It gets old, and although I am a huge England fan, Why O Why now makes me wonder what excuse he will use when Dixie throttles Ryle Friday night

For the Ryle fans...do you feel playing a pretty challenging schedule at the beginning of the season has helped you improve throughout the season and prepare you for a game like Friday? The reason I ask, is because every time we talk about playing a challenging schedule the first thing all the naysayers say is "It doesn't help...look at Ryle!" In my opinion it definitely helped this year. I don't think anyone at the beginning of the season was saying if these two teams were to meet in the playoffs that Ryle could actually win it. Ryle is a nice story this year...IMO.

 

The difficult schedule shook Ryle's confidence. They havent had a winning season since 2011 and to start off season 1-3 was hard. But then they lost to a bad Shelby County team. Coach Engler has done a fine job at keeping the team focused, despite starting 1-4 and they battled vs. SK. Since that bad loss vs SK, Ryle is 4-1. They have made strides which are difficult to accomplish in a year. Their confidence and expectations are high as they can be and they believe they can beat anyone. The ball bounced the wrong way a few times 3 weeks ago, we'll see if its any different this Friday....if it does bounce Ryle's way, people in Union won't be surprised.

For someone who doesn't care what anyone thinks your a little sensitive? Let's scroll down our schedule and see where you might be at this point in the season, 2 wins maybe 3. Probably running clock at halftime in 3 of them. We had a horrible start to our season no doubt. The only touchdown in the game was the result of a turnover inside the 20, I think? Both defense were strong on the pigpen that night. I'm glad to see Ryle playing its best football at the end of the year and maybe you taught us a lesson in game one. Oh, by the way the Bengals have a winning record also, safe bet Ryle wasn't anyones first choice to play in round 1 or 2 of the playoffs. Good luck this weekend it should be another easy win for you, it's been fun.

No excuse, we're supposed to lose. They have D1 players all over the field. We've been a 3 score+ underdog against Dixie and SK this year. Hope both teams play well and stay healthy to represent NKY moving forward. Thanks for your support.
