Georgia/Kentucky updates

Featured Replies

Kentucky has packed it in early today. Im' going to do the same. If they don't care enough to give effort, I don't care enough to watch them. Pathetic display today and last week.

I don't expect them to compete against top tier SEC teams. That's why I didn't complain when they lost at LSU. Georgia is not a top tier SEC team right now. Neither is Missouri.

You have to remember we are playing freshmen and sophs, late in the season.. The lack of depth is huge at this point of the year.

Also Georgia always has a good team, Mizzou won the Sec East last year. Yet you expect Kentucky to compete with those teams in Stoops second year? Considering he has only had a little over a full year to actually recruit?

They won 0 SEC games the previous two years. But all of a sudden they are supposed to compete for the SEC East in a lot of "fans" minds.. That's just absurd.

I never said I'm the only one.. But if people can't realise that Kentucky had no talent prior to Stoops arrival, then I don't know what else to say. Other than since the roster was so depleted it takes more than a year or two to build a roster that campete with the big boys.

I love UK football as much as basketball. But the football fans seem to expect a coach to come in and turn the team around the day he walks in the door. Stoops has turned the team around, they have won more games this year than the last two combined. Yet the "fans" can't see that progress is being made, since we can't beat the best teams in the best conference in the country.

No, no one says that at all. No one said there isn't progress. No one. However, to say it's because freshman are having to play, that's a crock of manure. Everyone in the conference is playing freshmen to some extent. The game has changed. It wouldn't matter what they rolled out there, if it was mostly seniors, they still have donated two kick returns for touchdowns and a retarded one hand attempt on a slant that got picked at point blank range. So, forgive me for not agreeing one iota with your assertion that us "fans" don't know what we are watching. This forum ain't the barber shop.

I don't care if we are playing cheerleaders and walk-ons. If they don't give effort, I'm done with them. Yes, I expect them to give effort and compete.

What gains UK made in the beginning of the year have been completely erased.

I disagree. Schedule got real. No more no less.

Why is Towles even in the game at this point? Just taking an unnecessary risk. It doesn't matter if they lose 90-24 at this point. All that matters is beating either Tennessee or Louisville.

Teams do play freshmen and sophs, but not like Kentucky has to right now. One big difference is that a team that is already loaded with depth may give a freshman pt, but they also have equivilent players to give them depth in the junior and senior classes. Kentucky doesn't. Football comes down to depth at every position, Kentucky won't have that for a couple more years. There is a reason why the Alabama's and LSU's of the world redshirt freshmen that are top 10 at their positions. Yet UK fans throw the towel in because UK can't compete with LSU, completely ignoring the difference at depth by position.

Good, quit watching then.. I will welcome you back in a couple of years.

The Cats had a very, very soft schedule early and they won.

As the schedule got real they have not looked good.

In the past those games they won might have been loses, with the exception of the U.T.Martin and the U.L-Monroe game.

Even bad Kentucky teams win those games.

How so? They still have a "chance" to go to a bowl game after only winning 4 games the previous two years combined.

I thought you wanted to see them play with effort? Benching your starting qb would be the opposite of what you want to see.

My fandom won't be controlled by you. If you aren't disappointed in the effort the last two weeks, you need to take the blue shades off. This team has quit with 4 weeks still to go. That's concerning.

This "game" is "over". This "game" was over 30 seconds into the 2nd "half". The backup "QB" can give "effort" too.

UL Monroe hung right with T A&M and I believe lost to LSU by around the same margin as they did UK. This year's Monroe team woukd have beat last and the previous years UK teams.
