Only Congress has the power to set rules on naturalization. It is a Contitutionally defined power explicitely granted to Congress.

EOs are not typically Contitutional power grabs.

 

Congress certainly has ceded much power in the way of Military action, not having declared war since 1941. They created the War Powers act to at least keep check on arbitary use of the military. And even that law was abused with the action Libya.

 

Congress ceded decision making on the gulf wars to the president but it was ceded, not grabbed in naked aggression.

Let them go for it, it will give them something to do for a change, but still nothing will get done, and other issues will be ignored that will tick off the public guaranteeing a D wins the presidency. Lol

I actually think Obama would welcome the Republicans to try to impeach him. The Republicans will not fall for the trap though IMO. If he does use executive orders to legalize millions of illegals (which I cannot believe even you Sportsguy or Twotoplace really think is OK to do), then the Republicans counter should be to defund it.

 

I get a kick out of Obama. He says he is willing to talk to the Republicans about a comprehensive immigration bill. But then he says he will sign an executive order by the end of the year, BEFORE the new Republican senate is even sworn in?!?!!? What??

Acting like a dictator isn't an indictable criminal offense. Sounds to me like most of this impeachment talk has more to do with style than substance.

I just want the R's, D's and I's to stop messing around and compromise on issues and get some stuff done!
