Also I should note that spanking wasn't the first line of defense. They would get a warning whenever possible, sometimes multiple warnings. But they knew that if I said a spanking was going to be happening, then it was going to be happening. And my kids have turned out GREAT.

In summary, spanking is OK in my book, but beating your kids because YOU are angry is not.

I was spanked growing up when I needed it.

Never really spanked my kids. Would have if needed. closest I came was grabbing a shirt and getting in his face.

I should say that I don't remember ever being spanked. I have probably the easiest going Dad in the world. When you did get him mad though, he'd poke you right in the chest. That really hurt, but I think that, for me, the fact that I made him mad was worse. Now my brothers....they got what they deserved. They'll admit it as well.

 

My Mom on the other hand had no issue dealing out corporal punishment. You did not disrespect my Mom.

I was spanked in my early age.

 

Worst punishment every though came when I was about 15. I had to call my grandfather and told him what I did. Worst punishment ever.
