Stay Classy Dallas High School Football

Really wonder about the people in charge who thought this was okay to go ahead with.

NBC 5: Arlington ISD bans Martin football's 'just let it happen' T-shirts | Dallas Morning News

"We take what we want" and "Shhhh... just let it happen" printed on the front of a t-shirt with the school's mascot, and approved by the School's Booster Club, understandably drew the ire of some in the community.

Stupid is - is stupid does.

Hang on a second...I'm sorry, i may be slow, but how do they get that the T-shirt equates to Rape?

I'm sorry, I think they are going a bit too far.

"Shh, just let it happen" "We take what we want" how does that not equate to rape?

It does have a Bobby Knight feel to it.

I would ask where they came up with the "let it happen" phrase.

I guess I'm just not with the lingo of today.

I looked at the shirt itself and see that they are apparently the Pirates? So they plunder etc. I just took it as that. Ban the shirt, I'm fine with that, but I saw it as just going into a new town and pillaging etc. and then leaving. Sorry, just a Pirate thing

I always thought the phrase was "raping and pillaging".

This thread reminds me of Joey on Friends - he can say anything and make it sound dirty.

No way of knowing the intent of the message. If you made me GUESS I'd say at least some of the boys knew that the term had a rape inference/connection.

Heck, I get that most adults wouldn't have caught it.

The phrase is linked to rape.

The article mentioned that the seniors on the team picked the slogan. Sounds like some people who need better role models in their lives.

No two ways about what the kids were insinuating. It's one thing to be juvenile and make jokes like that (which still doesn't mean it's right), but it's another thing to be dumb enough to put it on a shirt with your school's name, mascot, and sports team.
