Mt. Rushmore of Point Guards

I've got JD's list:

Magic

Stockton

Isiah

Oscar

That's what I'm going with.

No I don't think you do. People get too hung up on a ring many times. A player can't determine his teammates or how they play. A great player is a great player...ring or not.

In general, I don't disagree. With the Mt. Rushmore, however? The ring doesn't mean anything when deciding the greatest ever to play the position?

I agree. Magic is a no-brainer. If we consider Oscar a PG, he is a no-brainer as well. Of the five major stats in hoops (points, rebounds, blocks, steals and assists), Stockton was or still is the all-time leader in two of them - steals and assists - I believe. He is in. Isiah would be my 4th as well even though he was a punk - the man could play...

No. It shouldn't. Too many factors go into getting a ring that is beyond one player's control. If MJ was born at a different time how many rings would Stockton have?

MJ and company really made it hard for Stockton, Malone, Ewing, Barkley, and others to get rings...BTW, just looked up Stockton. He has 3,800 more assists than Kidd (second on the list) and about 600 more steals than #2 on the steals list. Stockton was incredible and probably does not get his due by a lot of people because he played in the Jordan era.

They should rename the "Pocket Pass" and just call it a "Stockton".

Announcer: "Man that was a nice Stockton inside to Cousins for the dunk"

Magic

Isaiah

Stockton

Kidd

Are you saying you like Kidd more than Oscar or that you don't think Oscar is a PG??
