Bellevue 20 Ludlow 14

Featured Replies

High drama game of the night as Bellevue scored late in the 4th to go up 20-14. Ludlow dead in the water with time running out until a 5 yard out turns into a huge gain when Bellevue DB goes for the INT and misses allowing the Ludlow receiver to streak down the sideline.

First and goal Ludlow and Bellevue turns them away on 4 consecutive plays with seconds left.

Congratulations to Bellevue; sounds like it was a good one. Nearly came to this one and wish I did after going to see Dixie and Simon Kenton.

Wish I would have went too. No doubt about it heading to the game next week.

Ludlow had the bigger kids, but Bellevue played typical Bellevue "smash mouth" football. I was impressed with how hard these kids played, especially Alex Hazeres, probably the smallest player in uniform but runs the ball like Earl Campbell. :ylsuper:

Checkout my post from the update thread for details on this one.......http://bluegrasspreps.com/ky-football-high/ludlow-bellevue-updates-288428.html

If that kid had not got tied up with the Bellevue defender during the catch, he scores. It was a foot race down the sidelines and the Bellevue DB's didn't give up and caught him at the 8 for a game saving tackle.

Surprisingly Bellevue had to go to the ground game in the second half instead of throwing it all over the place as Ludlow played some nice defense. One observation is both teams really need to find a way to be better on special teams. You can't kick off and pretty much allow the opposition to start at the 40 because you can only kick it to the 25.

Frankie my boy, sounds like you were there........were you surprised at the play calling of the Panthers as I? To me Ludlow had 2 really nice sized receivers (#80 & #84 I think) that could have been utilized a little better, and the run plays on 3rd and long late in the game. :idunno:

But the "little man" running it was "tough as nails".

Me too, I make Dayton and Bellevue every year.

Well the INT that they threw in the 4th quarter was just a wobbly bad throw and Bellevue almost had some other INTs so maybe they were a little shy about giving up a game breaker. Can't really fault the game strategy as it kept them in it until the final seconds. I thought Bellevue would win easily but I give Ludlow credit for taking it down to the wire.

Go Tigers...Hazeras has Swope blood in him. He needs 2 more fumble recoveries to break the State career HS récord.

His mom was a hell of an athlete back in the day.

Really hope he can get this record.

I've heard quite a few people not agree with the way the Ludlow offense is being run this year. They definitely have some playmakers on offense. Just imagine if the Caple kids and Moore would have stayed at Ludlow. That could be a good team right there.

It could have been really good.
