Kentucky Class 4A Football Rankings for 10-13

I think now that Highlands has a loss Owensboro can make a legit claim for #1 in 4A. They have one loss,42-34, to Bowling Green. With wins @ 2A #4 Owensboro Catholic,@ 4A #4 Madisonville, and @ 5A #3 Warren Central.

Owensboro had a solid argument before the HHS loss. No problem at all with someone liking them for first.

You can put Owensboro at 1. I prefer to be in second till the end and make my move on turn 4!

As much as I hate to say it, I'm not sure CC is a top 10 team...right now. Its kind of weird to say it, but I'm kinda watching the game against Harrison Co. Not that CC will lose, but can they start to put it back together?

However, I'm on the side of "Cov Cath can still turn their season around and they still worry this HHS fan come playoff time" I know they have the talent and I'm not sure what happened in the HHS game, but if they get healthy and get their heads right, they could still make a run. Unfortunately (because of playoff structure), none of what they are going through right now really means anything at all. If they get their heads right and they get healthy, they still worry me. I'm also in the belief that 4A is fairly weak this year. So once you get passed the HHS and Owensboro, I think you can pick out of a hat. That's by no means saying one of those others could not beat either of those teams, but it would take a great effort.

Cov. Cath's always a worry for the Birds. That's why Highlands players wear shirts that say "Beat Cov. Cath."

...4A will also seemingly get easier next year with the absence of Highlands, Covington Catholic, Boyle County, etc so even if this year doesn't end well they should still have no reason to worry about the future...

I'm going to disagree...Collins loses the stiff competition from the East yet picks up John Hardin and Warren Central as regional and State-Semi games... I don't see them winning those games too often.

Moreover, I know Collins big win against highlands infused quite a bit of optimism (as it should), but that was won on the back of two DI-A skill players and an absolutely lights-out QB all paired with a boat-load of third years starters. That kind of star power, paired with that kind of experience, paired with that weak a path to the one-hitter-quitter Final game, comes along once or twice in a program's lifetime. Collins just got their's early.

...but I've been wrong before...just ask my wife...

I would have Warren East in the top 10 - lost by 1 to Franklin Simpson and they have Eli Brown.

Just like Kentucky basketball players... One and Done. Or should I say 1 year/ trick pony.

Considering they made it to back to back state title games..........................................................
