Cats Pause 12th Region Preview

I spoke with a Pulaski Coach a few weeks back, he said they weren't that good this season.

Well, I'm not sure on who that is, former or current? There's not a lot to bank on unless you focus on last year, which shouldn't be done.

It was someone involved last year and involved this season.

I don't think Pulaski is too high' date=' around 6 sounds about right to me. They have a bunch of returning talent from last year, a few solid FR, and a few players that will help them that didn't play last yr..[/quote']

Didn't Gover and another kid leave and go to SW?

Gotcha. So that was based off last season..

Yes, Gover & Clark are both at SW this year... Just curious to who you guys believe should be ranked ahead of them, aside from Mercer on the list?

I'd put West Jessamine ahead of them and possibly Danville. I feel like the top 4 teams are a notch above the rest, I think Mercer County and West Jessamine are the next two teams depending on Dow's status. Without Dow Mercer County only has one stud player and that's Will Hager and there is only so much he can do by himself. Without Dow I'd have West Jessamine at #5 and then 6-10 would consist of Mercer County, Danville, Casey County, Pulaski County in no particular order.

Much like Dow for Mercer County, DJ White being ruled eligible would elevate Casey County in the rankings.

I do feel like any of the top 4 teams are capable of losing to any of the 5-10 teams on any given night but those 4 teams should dominate the region.

No not just last year...he was specifically talking about what they had this season.

I wouldn't have said it any better PP! I seen Pulaski this summer they will hurt not having gover at the PG. You can say all you want that he was the coaches son but he stirred the pot to that stew. I watched him give SW 32 points last year. I did hear they got a 6'5'' transfer from Brooklyn last week. That's good info from someone who works in the school. I also hear they've only had one open gym so far this pre-season. So ill say I don't believe Pulaski is the best in their own district.

Wayne

Boyle

Lincoln

SW

West

Mercer

Casey

East, Somerset, Pulaski, Danville , Garrard

There's really a top 7 then a group of teams below that IMO. With Turner, Danville would've been in the mix. Lincoln is a notch above SW. West and Mercer are a toss-up. If Dow and White get eligible, Mercer moves up to fighting for 4th with SW; and Casey as high as 6th.

Players:

Tyler

Woods

Bell

Taylor

Hager

Conway

Blevins

Elkins

Stearns

Woolridge

Tyler should be #1. I think Bell thru Conway could be argued to be in any order. I also think Elkins could really move up the ranks as the year goes on. Also watch for Cam Jones from East, Brooks Ely from West and Gaskin and Gover from SW.

Hearing that Malik Dow's appeal was denied. I'd like to see an injunction filed in this case and approved so he can play. I don't understand the reasoning behind him not being allowed to play. The guardianship rule should probably be looked into more clearly IMO.

I am hearing the same. Bad news travels fast. The KHSAA fails to do what is right for a student once again. I guess his mom should have gotten a fake address in Harrodsburg and then he'd be eligible to play. Instead she tries to do right for all parties involved and Malik is punished when it is clear that it isn't a move for athletic reasons. I don't get it.

I'll be looking northward and watching that situation closely.

That's the word. The KHSAA failed on this one.

I normally don't have an issue with the KHSAA but I do in this case. With the info I have received about this situation I think and hope they win the injunction.

I hope so too. :thumb:

Cats Pause says Pulaski County will have Sean Ross, Blake Burton, Mason Helton and Riley Hall if he is healthy.

Can Dow return to Ballard?
