How'd that Newcath/Newport freshmen game turn out????

I'm sure both teams were mouthing on the field, there's a difference though, between mouthing on the field and the physical activity shown by the personal fouls. Another difference is that the Newcath coaches will address those Newcath players that were being verbal on the field, but will Newport coaches address those physical attacks resulting in personal fouls? NO, so like I said man up and take responsibility for your actions, learn from it and move on!!!

 

I have coached at an inner city school, so I know how some schools respond to negative behavior of their players. When you can watch a game and see how players are and how that behavior continues onto other games, it leads people to believe that coaches condone the behavior. When players have to run or are disciplined at practice, for actions of other players on the field, then yes I can speak on that, that Newcath coaches discipline their players for misbehavior.

As far as asking footballbaby how they would know if Newcath players had bad attitudes during game, I know they weren't there. Read their post, they asked how Johnson did during the game. Why would they ask that if they were at the game??? Come on.

 

And I do have an issue with blaming the refs for losing the game. That implies that the Newcath football didn't beat them and that they didn't earn the win. Both teams played hard, and Newcath beat them fair and square. They didn't need the help of the refs.

I agree, I shouldn't assume. I can only truly speak for the schools that I have coached for and for Newcath. I'm not afraid to admit when I've said something incorrect.

There are a few middle schoolers that will be going to NewCath that play for the Red Devils, and these kids will make a HUGE difference.

 

I hope the Newport teams are improving, this only makes the rivalry that much better.

Very true, some of Newcath's best players came out of the Red Devil organization.

Hats off to the Breds!! They played and physical all night and came out victorious!! Who cares about all the garbage cry baby stuff just give Breds credit for keeping the bell where it belongs.

Just to address the whole middle school issue, I can recall a couple times in the past decade where Newport's middle school team beat NCC. I even recall back in 2006 or 2007 that Newport was seeded #1 in the middle school playoffs and defeated numerous other teams including Campbell County. Guess what, it's middle school. It means nothing as to their future high school success. That year Newport was #1 seed in the playoffs, they lost to NCC in the playoffs. The 8th graders on that NCC team led NCC to a state title in their senior year (2010), and beat Newport 54-13. This is a prime example of middle school meaning nothing. Kids transfer, kids pick other sports, other kids come in. For example, that junior high team lacked Chris Kelly, Jake Cain, etc. All Red Devils. So let's keep middle school out of it, and get back to a logical conversation.

 

The better team won, and this is the same as Highlands-CCH. Highlands is the better team until CovCath proves otherwise, as is NCC to Newport. Unfortunately for Newport, their losing streak in this series is much longer than CovCath's to Highlands.
