If you read my post I stated I had to hear and read many many complaints from NCC folks this weekend. I listened all weekend about it and read it on here. Your first sentence is sufficient enough to see where you are coming from. Sorry to touch a nerve.

Exactly and I hope that is not sarcasm you are using but rather getting to an understanding of what is going on in the Newport School System as a whole and not just in the football program.

 

I for one Congratulate Coach Schmitz and his staff as to how far the program has come in just 1 1/2 years!!!!

No, honestly no sarcasm behind my statement at all. I hope Coach Schmitz can really turn Newport's program around so far he is doing a really good job.

But they are also 15-18 years old and should know how to act and conduct themselves properly on and off a football field. I can speak of NCC only by saying the personal fouls were addressed in practice on Saturday morning. I would hope the same thing for Newport.

 

No body once said it was ok for those things to happen because they are an inner city school. The problem was her saying like she knew that it wouldn't be addressed, like it would be at NCC. Which is wrong because she has no clue if it was addressed or not. As stated I can almost guarantee you can switch coaching staffs, and NCC would look like the discipline team still even with the Newport coaches. While the current NCC coaches could go to Newport and do the same discipline they do at NCC but probably still would have the same things happen on the field as the current coaches. People act like its such an easy fix, but as I stated at NCC the culture of the program has already been established for many years before the current coaches got there. Its a whole culture change that has to take place before you completely see the results. So the Newport coaches could do the same discipline as NCC coaches and if not more. However when people see them it may not be noticeable yet because it will take time. That's why its unfair to say NCC coaches are doing it right, and acting like the Newport coaches aren't doing anything to address it. Especially when that person has no idea. Perception is not always reality.

Besides this thread taking a wrong turn near Albuquerque, we are now WAY OFF THE GRID!!!!
