Game 1 (NewCath 25-23) - was all Cooper early on, but the Breds fought back from a 14-7 deficit to get the win.

Game 2 (Cooper 25-21) - was close throughout, but the big play in this one was with score 21-19 Cooper, NewCath is awarded point to make it 21-20, but Cooper coach appeals the call saying ball was tipped. Head Official looks to Cooper player with the flag (on the Cooper side), who is standing next Cooper coach, she said it was tipped........mind you she is making the call from the Cooper side, how in the hell she could make this call is baffling. Kind of a momentum swing has NewCath gets the next two points.

Game 3 (NewCath 25-18) - Jags get an early 3 pt lead, but the Breds hang tough and it's "nip and tuck" once both get to double digits. Breds pull away once they get a 16-13 lead.

Game 4 (Cooper 26-24) - this one was never more than a 3 pt lead for either team. Breds looked like they had the momentum up 19-17, but the Jags remained focused and pull out the win.

Game 5 (NewCath 15-11) - all Breds in this one as Newcath races out to a 8-2/9-3 advantage. However, the Jags make a run and close the gap at 10-7, but never get over the 3 pt lead hump.

Tip of the cap to everyone of the NewCath's players on the floor tonight....Jamie Lohr, Olivia Owens, Laura Brannon, Keyiara Lankheit, Alexa Kehoe, Amanda Ruwe, Rachel McDonald, Mikah Freppon, & Lexy Breen you all played a very solid game and displayed a great TEAM effort in tonight's victory. :thumb:

Cooper has some very nice height on their team and quite a few that can get off the floor. #7 Soph. Kaity Smith can flatout get off the floor and slam the :poop: out of the ball.

Thanks to both teams on such an entertaining evening. :ylsuper:

What an amazing night for NCC!! The girls scrapped after ball and grinded their way to the victory. IMO Rachel McDonald was much the better player on this night. She just seemed to take over the game, her defense was amazing not to mention the way she was hitting the ball. Mikah Freppon played one of her best games, especially as a freshman. Senior Jamie Lohr also played one her best games at the net in her nice career at NCC. This win will for sure give the Lady Breds the confidence for a good run in the upcoming post season!!

Great Team win for NCC. Almost every girl stepped up their game and beat a very good Cooper team. I do agree McDonald was the best player on the court and was told Xavier's Head Coach was there to witness. Her all around game and volleyball IQ are off the charts. I would love to know how many kills she had tonight.

NCC was definitely hitting on all cyclinders. Ruwe and McDonald were digging everything. Lohr was rolling the ball over defenders all night. Lankheit had a ton of blocks and Freppon's sets were on spot most of the night. I also thought Brannon played a nice front row getting several kills at crucial times.

Great Volleyball Atmosphere and NCC should have motivation going into the final stretch of the season. This team has come a long way since the first game of the season.

Amazing might be a little strong. Upset, surprise, fluke. All may be more appropriate.

Many of the teams behind Notre Dame can beat each other. St. Henry might be the best of the rest but Ryle, Cooper, NCC, Beechwood, Boone, not far behind and there are some others not far behind them.

What about Scott? They have beaten all the teams listed with the exception of Ryle which was very early in the season and they haven't played Beechwood yet. They should definitely be considered in the group behind St. Henry.

I would have to agree that Scott played phenomenal against Cooper. They played Cooper earlier in the year at Bluegrass State Games and Cooper won in straight sets 2-0, but Scott looked much stronger the second time around and caught Cooper off guard. But don't be surprised if you see Scott make its way to state this year because they are the best team in their region and arguably one of the better teams in NKY.

Lost to ND too. But Scott is the best team in the 10th and should win it. No doubt.

I was in 9th Region-mode since the state draw came out. Scott is very good and whoever wins the 10th could make it to state semis
