lawildcat Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 Mr. lawildcat found this shed while bushhogging last week. Hoping the guy who dropped it is still roaming around our land. The nuts are huge this year! All over our woods! Should be a good season!
spindoc Posted September 30, 2014 Posted September 30, 2014 I used to get so excited for the first white oaks to drop. Now, not as much. I prefer to wait til it cools off, find an ususpecting doe, put a 55gr VMax through her earhole from the .22-250 so there's no mess when I dress her and get her ready for jerky.
doomer Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Love you all....but I hope you all miss! Last year, my favorite day was when one of the two guys that hunts the 300 or so acres around my place had parked his truck just off my driveway as he normally does and gone back about a mile to his deer stand. I laughed as I watched about 10 deer congregate around his truck.
TAC Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Probably go check the trail cam tonight. Local hunter busted a nice buck a couple of weeks ago with his bow. He has some other images of big ones that will hopefully stroll over to my neck of the woods. Picking up some salt and some corn on the way down. Hoping LA Wildcat shares he nuts with me. Heard she has been collecting them for Mr. Wildcat.

The gentleman that owns the farm where I hunt estimates he lost between $20,000-$22,000 in soybeans last year due to deer damage. He had two fields he didn't even harvest because the fuel to harvest would cost more than the few remaining beans would bring. So without taking several deer ever year our grain farmers would not survive. He wishes they were all taken.

However, I see right out my door the farmer mentality that all gone would be great. I don't respect that mentality whatsover. Yes, I understand the crop loss, but it comes with the "turf".

Starvation, disease and not to mention how many will die/injured by being hit by automobiles.

All Blue Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 I'll throw a little extra over on the side for your brother! He would like that, they are feeding them in about 5 different spots all through out the farms and have used about 3500 lb.
