September 27, 201412 yr Other side of Lawboy13's thread, give me your 5 worst rock singers. Mine: Axl Rose - None worse than this guy. His scalded caterwauling is the worst offense on the ears I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing. Ted Nugent - Love a lot of his music but the guy isn't a singer. He should have kept Derek St. Holmes as his singer. Bono - A better voice and front man and I believe U2 would have been a much, much better band. Anthony Kiedis - There's a reason that he rapped through most of their music in the 80's. His voice. Joe Cocker - Always sounded like he swallowed boiled gravel before every performance.

I don't disagree with any of these, although I still do enjoy GNR. Nugent is probably the worst of the bunch you mention. There are plenty of rock singers that aren't technically good, like Springsteen, Petty, and Jagger, but their charisma and music make up for their lack of ability. Some of my least favorite-- 1. Bob Dylan--I know lots of folks love him, but his voice just makes him hard to listen to 2. Geddy Lee--I like some Rush, but Geddy's voice is far from pleasant 3. Courtney Love--If she doesn't marry Kurt Cobain, she never gets to release any music. 4. Lemmy Killmeister--Ok, I love Motorhead, but Lemmy is not a singer
September 27, 201412 yr As much as I love the Stones, Keith Richards has a horrible voice. Thankfully he didn't sing on many Stones tunes.
September 27, 201412 yr Author Ouch. I disagree with everybody on your list.:banana:That's cool, as misguided as that is. :lol2: Give me your other worst besides Keith Richards.
September 27, 201412 yr That's cool, as misguided as that is. :lol2: Give me your other worst besides Keith Richards. I've heard you are really awful. Satisfied now? J/k.... let me think about it.

September 27, 201412 yr Shake'em up and pull them out of a hat Joe Cocker Bruce Springsteen Bob Dylan Tom Waits Janis Joplin Lemmy just missed the cut. :lol2:
September 27, 201412 yr Before I ponder my "Worst" list, I'll echo my distaste here for Axl Rose. Although I did initially like "Welcome To The Jungle" when it first came out, and think that Slash is a good guitarist, Axl very quickly wore on my nerves. I think it was with "Don't Cry" and how he sustained the long annoying note at the end is when the coffin lid shut for me. Him murdering "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" didn't help me regain any faith either. I think there also might be another tune where he sustained a similar annoying note, but don't recall what it is, but all in all he was just downright painful to listen to. He definitely tops my "Top 5 Worst" list. I need a little more time to ponder 2 thru 5.
September 27, 201412 yr Any Death Metal growl from any unintelligible lead "singer" from the entire genre. Thought that it was ridiculous when I first heard the sound of it, and even more so that anyone would consider mocking it.
September 27, 201412 yr Liked a few Aerosmith songs from the early days, but thought that Steve Tyler just became embarrassing as time wore on.
