What am I justifying? Just stating a fact. The batting title is going to be won by a guying hitting under .320. The NL has six guys batting over .300. Not a shock that the Reds leader is in the .270s when they lost their best hitter for the majority of the season.

 

Just came off as you were ok with it because overall avgs are down. And again I don't think a healthy Joey Votto tips the scale that heavily.

As a side note......since only 4 Reds would even qualify for the batting title and I'm sure other teams are similar..............should MLB consider changing the 502 plate appearance rule. It is based on 162 X 3.1 plate appearances per game.

 

I guess MLB has changed a lot in the 2000s and not very many guys play 160 games anymore.
