My view has always been that the intentions behind separation of church & state, at least as it was put forth by Jefferson, was protection for the church from the state; not the other way around.

Open your eyes, no longer being able to force non-religious students into taking part in prayer is a good thing.

 

What about the ones who do. No one is forcing anything on them. They are forcing the ones who want to take part in prayer to not be allowed to do so.

I'll be honest, I don't believe in any religion, could care less about it, but as a teenager I always felt awkward when we did the Lords Prayer. Schools should offer freedom from religion, like a previous poster said what If a coach was muslim and he quoted some passage from the Quran before pregame? Would everybody be fine with that? What if the coach was a Mormon?

 

I WILL PRAY FOR YOU MY CHILD. For now, my government cannot stop me from doing that.
