September 16, 201412 yr This was the energy drink before there were energy drinks. I can't recall exactly what it tastes like but I'm pretty sure it's nasty. You had to do the quick combo, 1 can of surge chased by 1 can of coke. That will keep you moving.
September 16, 201412 yr I don't even remember Surge. If it ain't coffee, water, iced tea or diet Pepsi, chances are I never noticed it.
September 16, 201411 yr Probably the most God-awful tasting "beverage" ever created. Someone at Coca-Cola needs to be fired for thinking this is a good idea. :lol2: There's obviously some demand for it, or I'd say they wouldn't be bringing it back.
September 16, 201411 yr I just read that it already sold out on Amazon. Yep and I'd say it's already for sale on eBay. Just looked it up and one 12 pack is already up to $40.
September 16, 201411 yr There's obviously some demand for it, or I'd say they wouldn't be bringing it back. I believe there was a surge fan club on Facebook with around 100,000 fans and they helped organize this by buying a bill board near coca cola headquarters. That may be in the original link in this thread but I didn't read it.
September 16, 201411 yr There is clear demand for this. Surge has a huge following. I remember loving it when I was younger, but...I doubt I'd feel the same now. Good move by Coca Cola, though. From a marketing, brand management, PR perspective, listening to your customers is never a bad play.

September 16, 201411 yr So true. Just ask the people who developed "new coke". "New Coke" was a constant topic of conversation in many of master's classes. The loyalty and ties to the original coke ran so deep. If Coca Cola had ignored that customer response and stuck with their plan, who knows where they'd be today. Listening to your customers and adapting/adjusting your product development and marketing is HUGE for any company, big or small.
September 16, 201411 yr Mt. Dew is okay, Surge was/is better, but my go to lately for a "kick" has been Ski. Otherwise known as "Green River Swamp Water."
