If they played tonight, who would win, Boyle or Owensboro?

Boyle is getting better each game. I havent seen enough of Owensboro to formulate an accurate prediction.

I would take Owensboro at home by 14 but then I'd also take Boyle at Boyle by 7. You better be pretty special if you're going to go into Rash stadium and beat the Red Devils. I'm not so sure Boyle has one of their better teams this year.

Get off that fence son, and pick a side. :D

I honestly can't say... both teams are still a bit of a mystery to be honest.

I have been paying special attention to Boyle this year since they will be dropping to 3A next year (plus I have always liked the Rebels and Coach Smith). To me Boyle is a complete mystery still.

- Early on their offense was anemic and their defense was above average. Against Anderson their defense looked questionable and their offense looked good.

- Danville is improved.... and it is a rivalry game... but the #3 team in 4A should have been able to put that game away with relative ease. Danville pushed Boyle the entire game.

- I still don't know the value of that Bullitt East win. BE finally plays a quality team this week to see how good they really are.

Owensboro we can only go off of based off their game against Bowling Green and beating an OCath team that doesnt have a book no them.

If I was forced to make a pick I would say Owensboro has played by far the best team out of the two and equated themselves well... and consider OCath and Daville a push and that Owensboro's win over OCath was more impressive.

With that I would say Owensboro by a score neutral field

Owensboro was driving and down to the 30-something of BG, down 1 with a little over 2 minutes to play. A bad snap ruined that drive, that could have seen Owensboro win the game. Owensboro has a massive line (3-300 pounders and a 293 lb. guy also - the 3 big ones are really mobile) and it pretty well did what it wanted to against one of the best defenses in the state. The first half they looked the superior team and it's speed was able to get loose on the outside. The QB had time to throw, run whatever. Owensboro still moved the ball well in the 2nd half, was still racking up 1st downs as the game ended and finished with about 400 yds of offense.

BG's offense and line turned the tide and controlled our defense the 2nd half (although the last TD was a gimme ordered by the coach).

If you believe BG is way better than Boyle (I do), then OHS is better than Boyle. You definitely have to move OHS ahead of everyone with the exception of maybe Highlands. OHS proved they will move the ball on anyone.

I know very little about Boyle other than keeping up with their scores and reading PPride's posts about them, but I have seen Owensboro in person and I wasn't expecting them to be as good as I witnessed. I think Owensboro would beat many 5A teams. Boyle may be very good, but give me Owensboro by 10 to 14 on a neutral field.
