theguru Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 What did you think of them doing the Zona/Charger game last night? Most of the time Berman gets on my nerves but I thought Dilfter added a lot of insight about offensive football, especially QB play and I found it interesting. Anyone?
Habib Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Agreed. Berman drives me nuts, but I thought Dilfer added a lot of insight.

Berman is like a cheese grater on my soul
UKMustangFan Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 We need to start a movement to get Berman fired. Not because he's done anything wrong, just because he's probably the world's worst sports "personality".
theguru Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 What did you two think about Dilfer?
UKMustangFan Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 ^He's alright, wouldn't be in my top 10 of people to call a game. Once they started singing the praises of the Ravens and the NFL for the Ray Rice thing, I turned it off.
Hellbird Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 What did you two think about Dilfer? Dilfer has always been good and brings very nice commentary to the game, he actually reminds me a bit of Chris Collinsworth when he first started out. He can poke fun at himself during the telecasts which is refreshing.

Everytime I heard Berman's voice a threw up a little in my mouth. Went to bed early last night.
theguru Posted September 9, 2014 Author Posted September 9, 2014 You guys missed a great second half of football. Rivers and especially Palmer can be inconsistent but they both make some great throws/plays.

Once they started singing the praises of the Ravens and the NFL for the Ray Rice thing, I turned it off. That was hard to miss. I didn't hear anyone break with the "company line" yesterday. It's like it is written in their contracts that when the Rice thing was mentioned they needed to mention the swift action by the Ravens after viewing the video for the first time.
stickymitts Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I thought Dilfer was good. There was one point that Arizona had the ball on 3rd down, the running back was hit and his knee touched the ground but he kept driving the defender back. They blew the play dead short of the first down. San Diego then calls timeout and Berman kept saying they were looking to see if they needed to challenge the play to see if they came up with the fumble. Problem was, there was no fumble and it was blatantly obvious. You could hear in Dilfer's voice that he really didn't know what Berman was talking about. Nothing worse than announcers that make a big deal about something then don't change their opinion when the video shows it's obvious they were wrong.
ColonelCrazy Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 I like Trent Dilfer, but I was surprised when he said that Palmer hasn't been surrounded by very good personnel. He had one of the best WR duos in the league in Cincy, with Chad & TJ.
SvFan4life Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 It was a good commentary but not the greatest. I like Berman, I mean he's not the greatest but he brings excitement to any telecast.
Blue Magic Posted September 9, 2014 Posted September 9, 2014 Berman is annoying and knows no more about football than an average football fan. The swami thing? I flip the channel every time he starts picking games.
