2 weeks running. Love in over his head?

He's been here a lot longer than 2 weeks. May very well be in over his head though.

Very aware where he's been. Running one aspect of a game is a different animal than when asked to make crucial decisions.

Agreed. IMO, he made some bad ones tonight.

But you are the one who said "two weeks running."

I sure did. Listened to the game last week. Wasn't there. That's why I asked if he was in over his head. Radio announcer questioned some decisions about the game last week as well.

Last week I didn't see much wrong I was actually impressed with the offense, but did think the defense needed work against the passing game, but it was our first game. To me it came down to Raceland not giving up after having the lead and Ashland making a big run. Raceland still came back and gave theirself a chance to win.

This one must have been a great game. I had picked and was puling for Ashland. Good luck in getting back in the win column next week.

even if that is true why throw the kid under the bus. Why not say, there was some miscommunication there, that's on me, and we will take care of that in practice this week to make sure it doesn't happen again.

I have no idea if coach Love is in over his head or not but I do to agree with this statement, certainly in High School.

I don't want to come across as a Coach Love basher. I went a little overboard when I said I've lost all respect for him, and I apologize for that. I'm sure he knows a lot more about football than I'll ever know, and from everything I hear about him he's a quality guy. He has just made some decisions that really have me scratching my head.

He better than a quality guy, my son is a better person having played for him.

On the last kickoff Ashland had the guy tackled and he got away, plain and simple. Two clean shots at the 20. I have seen teams get burned on squibb kicks also.

On extra points Ashland has a very low conversion rate attempting to kick. I think Ashland's biggest graduation loss was their place kicker.

The kicker didn't seem to have any problem on the last kickoff. How many kicks have they tried this year? How many makes?

As a former Ashland player which feels like many moons ago for this great program rich with history. I am sticking still with the idea that Love is still fitting into the swing's of the head coach seat. I mean it wasnt easy for hart either when he took over, Love is going to be OK its just right now they are starting to go into part of the season now were they are going to def be playing some competition that's amped up with everyone knowing the district is still up for grabs.

And also I do not want to take away that George Washington rebounded their game as well. I have feeling that these boys are going to go places in WV play. But again much better game and closer then the Russell and Ironton game.

Not sure what the percentage is for the year but they missed their last two against Raceland and their first attempt agains GW. For the record the kick off kicker and the PAT kicker are two different people.

I'm trying to understand, last year Ashland won 8 games with a team that most people thought would win 6 or so. They never lost to a team that they were better than and beat at least one that was clearly better than them in Raceland. Last night they lost to a good team, on the road, on a fluke play and all of a sudden Tony Love is in over his head?

Here is a newsflash for everyone, this isn't the 1960's and Ashland is not a dominate school.

Dominate maybe not but the record of championships in the district and the long history of smash mouth football says different tho my friend.
