I don't agree with Mtn Ref very often but he is correct on this one statement. However, it's the standard progression that we've seen for decades as each president pushes the limits set by prior administrations. The next president, whoever he/she is, will have more power than Obama.

 

This may not be a point of reference for your comment, but I am going to throw it in here. Obama's use executive orders has many people believing he is overstepping his power. However, Obama has issued fewer executive orders than any president since Grover Cleveland in his first term in office.

I said it on 9/12/01 and I will say it again today. Turn the Middle East into a gigantic sand box and be done with it.

I see where there is a threat that ISIS will make an attempt to go after Pope Francis. If something were to happen to the Pope, THAT would be the END OF IT!

 

At times I wonder what he has been "told" to do. When you look at how he refuses to ride in anything but a small car like a KIA, not wanting to be enclosed in the bullet proof shield for the Pope Mobile, is he supposed to be a martyr?

No, it's the ole presidents have never had the constitutional authority to nullify laws, create new laws, or negate parts of the U.S. Constitution approach.

 

If Obama issued only 10 executive orders, but each one stated that one of the first ten amendments to the Constitution were being suspended, would you still argue that the number of executive orders is all that matters? I expect that you would not.

 

You have to be willing to look beyond the numbers to understand that there is a problem.
