There used to be 3 signs but this one replaced them.

 

More schools should display their accomplishments. I look at that sign and can remember lots of great teams and players.

Wow! I knew Belfry had a great tradition, but didn't realize it went back that far.

I love the signs...I too agree that they can be intimidating to opposing teams...always love to see the kids walk under or pass the signs and watch the reactions

 

Some coaches will take their teams on extended walks and come into the stadium a different way just to avoid making their kids walk under and read such signs...:thumb:

Why put district but not Region championships?

The sign should only have state title years once you've won a title. District, regional, runner-up? No reason to celebrate years that ended in a loss.

Takes a lot of luck to win a state title. Belfry should celebrate all the district and regional titles. There have been several great Belfry teams that did not win a state championship. That does not diminish the role they played in the Pirate's tradition IMO.

I feel sorry for people who think like this. State championships are nice, but they are not the only positive thing worth celebrating in this great game of football. I like to celebrate the small victories along the way as you work towards those large ones.
