I'm not really a fan of any Louisville look that I can remember, especially last year's uniforms. I've never been a huge fan of Louisville's gear, and while I think the blackout look could work, the jersey is just all over the place. Adidas is slacking hard in both basketball and football.
August 27, 201412 yr Author Not saying any of the above to try and bash the Cards, just giving my honest opinion. I've never been a fan of the stripes/piping on their uniforms as a whole, as it's too overdone. What I'd suggest: Helmet: All white with the glittery, shimmer paint (ala Oregon) with a Cardinal logo on either side. What they have this year is a huge improvement without the stripe. Updated to stand out from other schools, but still traditional with the Card/teeth logo for recognition. Alternate helmet: the black out with the red/chrome Cardinal (see below) Home/Away Jersey: Red & white, keep the "Louisville" in the same font, but just drop the stripes/piping on the sides. Maybe put an Old English 'L' on the sleeves or something, but nothing crazy (and honestly, the Old English L probably looks best on the side of the pants) Alternate Jersey: Black with "The Ville" on the chest, ala the ones they've worn in the past, again, save the stripes/piping Pants: White/Red and even black (white helmets and jerseys on black pants, especially if there's lots of red in the helmet with the logo, ala the outline of the cardinal in white and filled in red only like the picture below) Alternate Pants: Black pants with 'The Ville' down one leg and/or a prominent Old English 'L' on the front or side hip (ala the recent Oregon pants)... August 27, 201412 yr Gotta say, I can like them. No real opinion one way or another really. I honestly don't care what they wear...just beat Miami! (And then everyone else. )
August 27, 201412 yr I hate all new uniforms for all teams - I am a big tradition guy. Doesn't mean I don't like the look. I just don't teams going away from the traditional uniform. Just hopeful Bama, Penn st. Stay away- I think everyone else has changed.

August 27, 201412 yr Love the black uniforms. Mainly because UofL isn't one of those schools just to create a black uniform because everybody else does. And the black helmets are extremely sick. LOVE them.

August 27, 201412 yr Most Adidas gear has been rotten. At least they haven't done half as awful with the football uniforms as they have with the basketball. That said, it's not like Louisville is some classic team with a traditional look that's been around forever. Though I wish that they'd come up with something nice and stick on it for a while. Like the black... wish it wasn't for a blackout while it's still going to be mercilessly hot during that tailgate.
