I'm sure your right about that, Ironton always draws a large gate. But that didnt seem to matter with the Ashland game, which would also have been a large gate.

The obsession over a high school football that wasn't even played is amusing. I'm pretty confident when I say this....Nobody from NCC is afraid to play Ashland. I'm pretty sure I was reading something in the other thread about Ashlands defense being just as good as it was last yr. well if all of our memories serve us correctly, that defense gave up about 40 pts and a loss, why would NCC be afraid. Get over it, move on and focus on Raceland next week.

I would head across the bridge for that. If I were NCC I would take the money and play it, I'm sure Ironton is offering up as much or more than they would get from a game with anyone else. I don't know what they have this year but they've been down a little lately so it would probably be a great game.

Who said they're afraid to play Ashland? I sure didn't, if you read my posts in the other thread you will see that I said they have a brutal OOD schedule, so I doubt they're afraid to play anyone.

 

It's not up to me to focus on Raceland, its up to the team itself and I am sure they are focused. But if you look at the Raceland/Ashland prediction thread you will see that I myself am focused and exited for the game. Raceland and Ashland went down to the wire last season just as Ashland/NCC did, I expect the same this season.

I'll be glad when next weekend rolls around so this drama can fall off the board.

I agree, next weekend should be amazing. Better get your tickets early. I know what Raceland brings, I expect more tickets will be sold than seats available, given that they are honoring last weeks tickets for this week.

If NCC has an open date on the 3rd and Ironton has one, as well, it seems like a natural fit. 2 strong programs of similar size and NCC gets that 10th game back. As far as distance goes, not much further than Ashland, so, that shouldn't be an issue. There are alot of closer teams, but, finding one willing to play or having the same open date is alot different story.

All jokes aside, I would take that game if I were NCC, Ironton is a great program. NCC would gain a lot of experience from that game.

You are correct in what I said.

 

NKY teams should go no further than Dayton OH to the north, Mason County to the east, Louisville to the southwest, and Lexington to the south. Too many good options without the 5 hr round trip. Nothing against anyone outside of those areas - just not necessary.
