Forever Young, The Pretenders version is better than Bob Dylan's original.

Speaking of "Forever Young"

There's been 3 different songs named "Forever Young"

The first being of course Bob Dylan's covered by Joan Baez, and The Pretenders.

Then Rod Stewart penned a "Forever Young" song with coincidentally many of the same words in his as Bob's versions. (A rip off of sorts).

Aside from that, a new wavy German band in the 80's named Alphaville wrote and performed a famous "Forever Young" tune that many might remember, and a few years back an Australian band named "Youth Group" (who I met playing in a Covington club a while back), did a nice remake of that version that went to Number 1 in Australia.

Very much enjoyed the Red House Painters links bbf. I am a long time fan of their music. Have You Forgotten is another awesome RHP song.

Very Cool! Love them and the song you mentioned. Never was lucky enough to catch them live.

BTW

"Sun Kil Moon" will be in Cincinnati for the Midpoint Music Festival (Sept 25-27) - 3 Nights - 150 Bands - about 20 clubs as well as Washington Park and Memorial Hall.

SKM will be in Memorial Hall which sits directly next to the fabulous Music Hall, and Memorial Hall is a pretty terrific old theatre as well having been built in roughly 1906.

That sounds like an awesome festival. Would love to check it out but unfortunately we have prior commitments.:(

Not saying this is necessarily better than Simon & Garfunkel's Sound of Silence, but it is pretty awesome.

This had me confused until the last few seconds. I was expecting to hear Brandi Carlisle sing the tune which now has my taste buds aching for that, but it was only her at the end of the video announcing the two dudes who did actually sing it. :idunno:

My bad. I heard it on Pandora and searched for it on youtube. Posted the video without verifying who was singing. Cannot seem to find the version I heard on Pandora...
