Scrimmage?

Conner needs to get there OL to block so there Qb can have time to get the ball off. Last scrimmage the OL looked like it was there first time on the field. Yes, it was that bad!!! I'm going with Conner, hopefully they can pull off a win before starting regular season games.Go Cougars!!!

Isn't the line inexperienced?

I was told Conner had the ol' deer in the headlights look starting the BW scrimmage. Competed better in the 2nd half. They'll need to build on that.

So many new parts this year. What we see today might not be what we see next week or week 5 or..

Walnut has had pretty strong teams recently - I think.

I agree Conner got a little better as the scrimmage went on. First half, Beechwood won 20-0. Second half, Beechwood won 17-7. As to Conner's offense, Padgett was much more effective than Martin. That is what I would be watching in this scrimmage if I were a Cougar fan.

I heard Padgett looked good at QB. I think they need to settle on a QB so they can get whoever it will be the needed reps in practice unless they will be QB by committee

Conner only has seven seniors on their roster and one senior lineman that played with the first team.

If (and it's still a big if) Padgett wins the QB job, where will Martin go on offense? He's too talented and athletic to not be on the field. He's been taking some snaps at wideout in practice. Personally, I think he'd be better served in the backfield and let him run which appears to be his strength when he's at QB. Maybe even put in a small package for him to take a handful of snaps directly to give the defense different looks. Just thinking out loud here....

They are better than they used to be. I think they owned the longest losing streak in Cincy. So they are much improved lately, but by no means a powerhouse in Cincy.

I think you might be thinking of Northwest High School that had all the losing, then in the last year or two had good seasons. Walnut Hills was 4-6 last year and 5-5 the year before that in a pretty weak ECC. Like you said, by no means a powerhouse in Cincy.

I'd put him out wide as a receiver unless they need a RB.

If he don't get Qb, they should use him everywhere, running back, WR, wide out, and on defense side of the ball. He has great speed and good hands. He definitely needs to be on the field most of the game. The side lines is not a place for a player with his abilities.

So is this kid a Sr? Did he play both sides of the ball last year or start on either side?
