Collins has a nice QB and set of receivers. If the O line can give them time to throw this game could be interesting. Otherwise I think SK wins by a couple of scores. SK's strength offensively is that big line and Dillon Powell. I am not sure if Collins will be able to stop them.

 

Defense is actually seen as Collins' biggest strength going into this year. I think they will be able to handle the SK offense. Maybe not stop them every time, but any scores won't come easy for SK. Collins doesn't have a big D-line but they have a lot of speed on defense.

 

Collins' offense may actually turn out to be better than some expected, and hopefully we will see that Friday night. There will be some new faces out there and they're ready to prove that they can play too.

Yes they were. The 09 team was pretty darn good also. The other "great" SK teams I do not think come that close to those two. I think the 09 team was much much better than the 08 team that had a lot of holes in it covered by a few great players. The problem with jumping on the SK bandwagon is their history. Unless you've been following NKY football for only a few years you know SK has a terrible history. SK did not make the playoffs very often when there was only 4 classes and a lot of the times only won a few games a year against lower level competition. SK is on the rise, no doubt. But can't blame anyone for being skeptical. A couple more solid seasons would shut me up pretty quick though.

No arguments from me. That's why I continue to temper expectations on this season based on losing the all state QB. We all know that it's difficult to replace those types of players. If SK can do that with Racke playing well enough to win games, then you have to believe the train is rolling in the right direction. Don't forget that Miles Simpson was 5 or 6 years ago and SK has continued to play great football over that same time period.

Yeah I know you have a lot coming back on D. Points in this game may be hard to come by. SK's Front seven are very good but the secondary is inexperienced, so if Collins is going to score I am betting it's through the air. I see SK scoring somewhere in the 20's and if Collins can't protect the QB I am not sure they can score that many. If they can protect the QB it very well could go right down to the wire just like last year.

SK's defense is good they had the X qb running for his life several plays.

It's a long season... better pace myself. However when a team gives you something like that to work with in the pre season I admit it's hard to contain the giggles.

I'll take it a step further, I think SK wins at home comfortably. I'm actually surprised the poll is as close as it is. I know many have this guttural instinct to root against SK because of one over-the-top SK poster, but honestly, I'm hoping they have a great year (and think they could).

They should be incredibly disappointed if they don't have a great year. In the meantime, I'll be cheering for the underdogs. With those lines and that size if you can't go 10-0 during the regular season, someone missed____________. You fill in the blank.

 

Going to be fun watching the rest of the contenders work on knocking them off the hill. And cheers to the "objective" sk fans. Looking forward to tailgating with a few of them this season. In the meantime, go Collins, believing in an upset!
