August 1, 201412 yr AmerAsia is in Covington, not Newport. Covington is west of Newport. I believe that's what he was referring to.
August 1, 201412 yr Author I would crack about " close enough" but I figure I'd get met at the county line .
August 2, 201412 yr CC made several good selections, IMO. I strongly recommend Blind Lemon any night you are able to be seated outside. Sounds as if the music may be a bit eclectic for your taste though. Eden Park is great, and a movie night there is a great idea. The Eden Park/Mt. Adams area are both great places to walk and enjoy the views and scenery during daylight as well. The Sawyer Point area (Cincy riverfront park) has a Bluesfest thing going on this weekend. Not my cup of tea, but it's music on the river and it's only like $15 for Saturday entry. Downtown should be hopping all weekend, with plenty going on. Likely a decent place to just take a walk and do a little people watching. In and around the downtown and Mt. Adams/Eden Park area is Montgomery Inn Boathouse. MI takes a bit of beating on here, but I'm still a big fan. This location offers great views of the river and NKY. I would avoid The Banks area. I'd avoid looking for Cincy's best burger as you'll either be disappointed, or have to wait way too long for a hamburger.
August 2, 201412 yr If you're looking for some good BBQ, you could head to Eli's BBQ. It's cash only, . They also take checks. I'd highly recommend this as a stop.
August 3, 201412 yr Author Had a great weekend , back home late last night . Amerasia was great Friday pm , the pork belly dish is great . Went for a stroll and watched the sunset over cinci via the purple bridge . Visited Ikea sat am , neither the wife nor I really enjoyed it . Warehouse of cheap stuff with odd names . Raided under armour and north face up at Cincy premium mall , had a late lunch at Elys BBQ , my good gracious was that good . Looked the unpretentious setting and need to take advantage of the byob . Best que I've ever had , sauce was great , prices very low , and I lived in Birmingham al for a few years , that's great ribs and BBQ . Attended crossroads , very uplifting as always . And finished up with a hour or toe shopping at jungle Jim's . Wanted to visit Findlay market and some downtown churches but we will get that next time . Oh lil Nashville was ok , was there for 45 min or so Friday night , band was ok , wife's vodka and cranberry was undrinkable . Horrible . Very loud in there ,got to get close to converse .
