Best Running Backs in NKY

Featured Replies

Here you go Buddy: Armstrong vs. Zajac against Ryle Armstrong 29 carries for 106, 1 reception for 0, for a total of 106 yards. Zajac 18 carries for 61 yards, 6 receptions for 60 yards for a total of 121 yards. Boone Armstrong 20 carries for 166, 1 reception for 0, for a total of 166 yards. Zajac 12 carries for 120 yards, ( 10YPC ) with 2 receptions for 30 yards, for a total of 150 yards, touching the ball 7 less times in those two games, WINNER, ZAJAC, I'm glad you asked.

Winner? We are talking about running backs right?

So Armstrong in both those games with common opponents rushed for more yards in both games yet you say Zajak was the better running back. Makes perfect sense to me lol.

I understand you will stand by your boy no matter what facts are presented and you are the one who just showed that Armstrong rushed for more yards in both those games yet you still pick Zajak. That's all I needed to know. I honestly didn't know what Zajak's rushing numbers were for those games, that is why I asked. I don't know where to go to see his stats, so thank you for posting them.

Best of luck to Dixie the rest of the way, I'm a huge fan!! We will just leave this debate as we both agree to disagree, I will go with the actual numbers and you can go with....well whatever you would like :)

In the end they are both good backs period.

23 yards against a bad CCH team. Exactly what I thought lol. Good try.

Not at the time, Cov. Cath was HEALTY then, right Grant County guy, just more stats for you Mr. Storyteller. Armstrong vs. Campbell County, SK, Dixie 18 carries for 14 yds! Zajac vs. Campbell County, SK, and Cooper 35 carries for 335 (93 against CC, and 94 against SK )yds. Thanks for playing Birdman, you're not winning this argument, sorry Cooper guy, BTW best of luck in the playoffs.

Hellbird thinks every kid on Coopers team is the best. But yet they can't win games.

It only proves to me how much more versatile of a back Zajac is, you do realize as a RB you can also catch the football, right?

????

Hmm, do me a favor and go into the best WR thread and then get back to me. You still upset about the butt whooping Dixie (Who I predicted would demolish SK) laid on your Pioneers? You do realize you compared me to what you do, the big difference between us is this. I am not as bias as you. I actually say when other teams are better and I also root for other teams to be succesful You may want to learn that one of these days.

You're right, at the end of the day, the best to both teams, and both are good backs, good back in forth with ya Bird!

I do agree with that. It also shows the difference in the offenses and how the backs are used. Zajak > Receiver than Armstrong I never and have never denied that. Armstrong isn't used as that type of weapon and not what he is good at. He is good at running. Same as Drew Moore, much better running QB than passing QB and that isn't disputed. So when you list the best QB's in NKY Drew is not at the top of the list...why is that? Because the ones at the top are better passers and that is what we look for in QB's. Same as a RB, we look at how good of running the ball they are. If you want to make a thread of best receivers out of the backfield in NKY I will be right there with you touting Zajak as one of the best.

Me too, I'm looking forward to another great weekend of High School Football and the Playoffs next week, well it's time to go play Smokey and the Bandit again, till Monday, best to ya Bird, I'll talk at you on the flip side, I'm gone!

Hellbird thinks every kid on Coopers team is the best. But yet they can't win games.

LOL did you really just accuse someone else of thinking every kid on their favorite team is the best??? Dude seriously:laugh   :laugh:

I like to watch all the debate about running backs. From the schedule, offensive line, playing only a half, etc. I use to have the same debate with my buddy about emmitt smith vs Barry sanders. Emmitt has the most yards, 3 Super Bowl rings, etc. My argument was he had a more talented team and if you put sanders on the offense imagine the yards he would of had.

The reality is we would never know and emmitt is the leading nfl rusher ever.

So no matter how much we debate I would guess after the final season game tonight that mason compton of walton will be the leading rusher as well. Does that mean he is the best? Probably not but he will have the most yards and touchdowns. No debate needed.

There are so many talented running backs in NKY. I believe all the boys have done a great job for their teams. Good luck in the playoffs.

I really wish yards after contact were reported. Pretty sure Zajac would be near the top of that list. He has speed which was displayed last night on his 57 yard TD run but he also is a power back. The number of times this year that he has carried a host of defenders 5-10 yards down field is too many to count. I think the argument that Zajac only has good stats because of the O-line is a poor argument. They may open the hole for him (and they do frequently) but he makes people miss in the open field or powers through tackles for big gains after contact.

Zajac has good speed and power.

"I will go one further here and say Latimore starts for any team in the state at some position on their team."

LOL,YOU, COULDN'T be more wrong, there are at least 5NKY teams he WOULDN'T star for at RB. 100% fact. I've seen the young man play he's a very nice back, but you must have not seen ANY of these other backs play, or teams, again you COULDN'T be more wrong. You need to go watch other team besides 2A teams Walton plays, it truly would open your eyes, big time.

"Latimore doesn't play any competition." That argument was used a couple years ago for a player at Walton, and proved to be very ridiculous (see Cole Mosier). I've seen Highlands, Cov Cath, Paducah, Elder, and several others; Latimore starts and shines for all of them. Put him at a bigger school and he plays one way, runs behind a bigger line, still has 4.5/4.6 speed, still cuts on a dime, and still catches the ball with ease. He wouldn't average 16 yds a carry, but would be a featured threat. Latimore is a legitimate DI athlete. Running back, wide receiver, or defensive back, he has the ability any of the three at the next level. The small school/competition argument doesn't hold water for elite level players, and Latimore is without a doubt a freakish player.
