I have friends - several reasonably close friends - who are absolutely convinced that the Sandy Hook massacre was a hoax. "I saw one of those girls with Obama afterwords and she was wearing the same dress. They just want to take all our guns." That is an exact quote from one of them.

 

Rather than simply say "Photoshop" (it wouldn't do any good), I deftly change the subject. Usually something like, "How about them 'Cats?" will do the trick.

 

When you think about it, maybe it is just a sign that they are idiots.

One of my best friends is the complete opposite of me in almost every single issue politically. It's also probably one of my most solid friendships because, we disagree, but we can discuss it and work through it. We're so different that it keeps it interesting and gives perspective.

Heck - I even sat a couple of seats from the likes of Run to State at a BGP get-together and lived to tell the tale. For the life of me, I couldn't name one person on here that I wouldn't share a bag of popcorn with or get together over a beer.

 

There must be some important stuff besides political beliefs and affiliations that contribute significantly to a person's makeup.

Besides, I feel I was the one that escaped with their life that night. With rockmom and you sitting next to me (oddly enough to the right of me) I became suspicious. Then I see rockmom under my chair while I was at another table talking to a friend, I thought for sure she was planting an IED or something. :eek:

I believe in God, I have friends who are atheists.

I believe in Christ, I have friends who are muslim.

I am a registered republican, I love PP92.

I am bald, yet love Clyde and his up-do.

I love the Steelers, but have friends who love the Bengals (this one is the toughest for me :eyeonyou:)

 

Sorry, got to draw the line at Steeler fans, man's got to have some principles.
