Basketball season for 2014/2015 should provide another exciting year. What should we expect from Pendleton County. Remember, please be constructive.

The biggest losses from last season would seem to be guard Lance Jones & big man Colton Pugh, but new head coach Keaton Belcher will have some talent to work with in Falmouth. The back court seems to be where the Wildcats will be strongest, with returning junior guards Hunter Wood & Tanner Pugh. I hear a lot of good things concerning junior-to-be Wade Browning as well.

I only saw PC once last year & that was a pre-season scrimmage, but the most talented player on the court was Michael Antrobus, who will be a sophomore this season. I would anticipate him playing a much bigger role this year than he did last.

Some others could provide much better info, namely LCD, but I am looking forward to seeing how Coach Belcher brings along this bunch in his first season. As I mentioned in another thread, the Wildcats have a challenging first five games to their season:

at Scott

vs. Scott County

at George Rogers Clark

at Lloyd

at Nicholas County

I remember PC lighting it up from the 3 point range against us in the 1st Q last season. They made 5, 3's. GRC tightened up the defense and went on to win by 24 points.

That's almost exactly what happened against Bracken County in summer ball. They couldn't miss in the first quarter. BC made the necessary adjustments and won easily. Evidently Belcher hasn't had time to install his own system because they played like I saw them play all last season under Coach Cravens

Injuries really hurt PC over the summer. I would expect them to continue to build an identity over the next season. Future could be bright at PC with what's coming through the pipe line.

Maybe there were alot of injuries then when I saw them play DeSales. DeSales handled them easily.

Don't believe the played DeSales this summer? Was that in Louisville?

Who has been injured?

Someone told me Bracken won by just a few points.

Who looked good for the Wildcats?

At Iroquois High School.

Bracken won by 2.

I don't know what the problems have been over the past few years at Pendleton but I do know this, they hired the right guy and all they need to do is give him 2-3 years and he'll get the program back on the right track. I hope the PCHS faithful understand that "Good things take time"

It turned out to be a final score of BC winning by 2, I believe, but BC was up double digits in the final seconds and PC scored a few to make the final score close. Don't know who looked good for PC because they were in practice jerseys with no names. I know the Wood kid and he had a good first half and the team had probably 7 threes in the first half, don't believe any in the second

Tanner Daugherty missed all of the summer. James Wolfe missed most of it. Michael Antrobus missed a good chunk as well with an ankle. Three varsity pieces. Also Caleb Baumgartner and Mason Dennie missed the last half due to injury. They were both dressing varsity. They had everyone for Bracken County besides Daugherty.

They ended the summer with a losing record. It will take some time for sure but like I said there are some good years ahead I believe and Coach Belcher will be the right one to get it back on track.

Pendleton County is playing in the Berea Christmas Tournament, which is being held December 27th-30th. They open the tourney with Harlan County.
