I would say more Android vs iOS. I dislike iPhone and Samsung. Mainly for the reason that I have felt last 2 Galaxy models feel cheaply made. I hate the terrible backing on the S4 and S5.

I have a good case on my S5 so I never see the back.

I have noticed a lot more of people going tablet with build in 4G and keeping old basic phone. It's not a bad option.

 

Seriously thinking about it. Quite honestly, I'm just tired of the ridiculous addiction I've developed, coupled with the fact that all of it makes me/us more accessible than what any of us really require.

 

I don't know if it's possible to be sick of texting, but I am getting that way.

I would love to wait but with my job it's really not an option to not have a working cell phone for an extended period of time.

 

I looked at the HTC One, but it seemed like the biggest plus to that was the music aspect? I could be wrong.

 

I'm coming off an android that really wasn't a bad phone, but wasn't near the quality I paid for it. I have an iPad, but admittedly don't utilize it anywhere near its full extent.

 

Girlfriend is team iPhone to the max. The reason i tend to lean that way is because I know in the times she's had any issues apple has had great customer service. That was lacking with my former phone and service provider.

 

A couple of my good buddies swear by the S5. They have s4 and are waiting to upgrade. I tend to lean that way because I know the bigger screen would be nice for a lot of reasons. My Android was a far bigger screen than the iPhone.

I like the bigger screen a lot. Also, I like the Swype keyboard a lot more than the iPhone keyboard. The camera seems to be a lot better as well. I like having multiple menu/back buttons on the bottom of the screen instead of just the one home button like on the iPhone. While I know they have a "Done" tab to go back the Samsung is much easier to operate with one hand. The two things that I do like about the iPhone: They have some apps like the Shark Tracker app from Ocearch that the Samsung does not and the battery life seems better on the iPhone. The Galaxy SR is a big improvement over previous android phones that I have had however. Either one is a solid phone, I just like the Samsung better. If I were giving scores it would be like 8/10 vs 7/10 so there's not much difference.

Thanks for the info. I've messed around with an S5 and like you I love the screen size, however I don't really like a big phone so not sure how much I would like it after getting past the newness of having the big screen. I keep my Iphone 5 in an otter box and hate it because of the bulkiness. As far as the interface part, I will have to mess with one some more to see what I like/dislike about them versus Iphone.

Different horses for different courses. I have an iPhone 5 for work, and a Galaxy s3 for my personal phone. I just find the iPhone to be easier and more intuitive to use, and the smaller size really doesn't bother me. I find myself using my work phone for everything. When I can upgrade in 6 months, I'll likely get the new Iphone for my personal use. Both are very good, and I think it really just comes down to personal preference. Get whichever works and feels the best for you.
