I just threw up a little on my shirt!

Got a couple:

And:

I am so happy that there are so many Polyphonic Spree videos in this thread. That was absolutely the first band I thought of.

I'm glad that you dig them. I've not met many who are too familiar.

Years ago when they first surfaced, I tilted my head with a bit of perplexion, then couldn't help myself but to take a closer look that lead to a certain obsession when the out-of-control uplifting feeling that these kids were bringing became very infectious.

The leader Tim Delaughter was originally in a band named "Tripping Daisy" where his guitarist and close friend killed himself. Afterwards, Tim found himself down in the dumps for a very long time and was aching to rise out of the sadness that he was under.

Initially for his own catharsis, he started trying to write happy songs, and one thing lead to another, and he decided to take happy to the extreme, which is how The Polyphonic Spree originally came to be.

I had the pleasure to chat with Tim and some of his band mates after their Cincinnati gig a while back and thanked him for creating such a wonderfully positive live experience and how his music has helped dig me out of some depressing times when stress had gotten the best of me. He responded "Just let go" and went on to sign my poster with the same message.

The show was truly amazing and one of the most uplifting positive live experiences that I've ever been lucky to be a part of. They are so much more than "Just a band".

I sorta threw in the Brady's and Hanson just to see if I could prompt that sorta reaction. I'm glad to know that it worked.

Speaking of George Harrison... (when all said and done, I thought him to be the deepest of all the Beatles. They certainly all were talented and contributed greatly to the legacy, but I found him to be the most humble, spiritual, peaceful, and the one who most had his ego in check).

Anyhow George has recently been in the news for an odd reason that most will likely consider to be hooey. It doesn't help that within the video I'm providing here that the narrator sounds ridiculous in her delivery helping to make this all sound very hooey.

I don't know what to make of the story, and the jury in my mind is still out about it, but I found it to be interesting nonetheless, even if it is bull crap.

Anyhow... there's a New Age musician named David Young who has put out about 50 albums of new age type relaxing music with him playing the recorder, and interestingly so he can play 2 of them at the same time.

Years ago he was a down and out spacy hippy dude playing music on Venice Beach in California where all the hippy artists and musicians hang out.

He lucked out because he recorded an album that did fairly well, and little by little he created a name for himself within the New Age world, and is now doing OK for himself.

He recently has released a book and some new music, and is claiming that over the last few years he's had countless weird coincidences and signals coming from George Harrison, and that George is channelling music and messages through him.

A side note about this David Young guy:

Years ago he used to wear a white puffy shirt while performing and was the inspiration for the Seinfeld puffy shirt episode.

Here's the video and to be honest is looks more like an SNL parody.

There's other stuff on the net about this, but this video gets straight to the point in a couple of minutes.
