These are the players that do not have offers YET....but UK is looking at:

WHO’S NEXT?

675804-112x150.jpg

Edrice Adebayo

Power Forward, Center

6’9″, 220 lbs.

Pinetown, NC (Northside)

Adebayo claims he has an offer from Kentucky, but that has yet to be confirmed. So far, he does have offers from North Carolina, NC State, Cincinnati, Kansas, Iowa State, Memphis, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forest. He’s a versatile big man that’s improving by leaps and bounds, and can move extremely well. For some reason, his nickname is Barn.

Derryck Thornton

Point Guard

Henderson, NV (Findlay Prep)

Will take an unofficial visit to UK on 6/21/2014

Thornton plays at the famous Findlay Prep, where he was on a team with Kelly Oubre, Rashad Vaughn, and Jonah Bolden. Thornton doesn’t have an offer from Kentucky yet, but that will likely change when he visits UK’s campus on Saturday.

Josh Jackson

Shooting Guard

6’6″, 165 lbs.

Detroit, MI (Voyageur Consortium)

I’m not sure why Kentucky hasn’t offered Jackson yet, but surely it’s coming. Rivals considers him the top player in the class, and he’s an athletic, versatile wing with offers from Kansas, Florida State, Memphis, Ohio State, Oregon, and Texas A&M. Duke, Michigan, and Michigan State have yet to offer, but it’s only a matter of time.

Josh Langford

Combo Guard

6’6″, 200 lbs.

Madison, AL (Madison Academy)

Unofficial visit to UK on 10/18/2013 (Big Blue Madness)

Langford says he’s already heard from John Calipari this week, and has expressed a lot of interest in the Cats so far. Right now, Duke is dominating his Crystal Ball, but will an offer from Cal change that?

Kobi Simmons

Point Guard

6’5″, 170 lbs.

Alpharetta, GA (St. Francis)

Unofficial visit to Kentucky on 9/9/2013 (Alumni Game)

Simmons had a monster spring, and is currently playing for Team USA in the adidas Eurocamp. Even though they haven’t offered yet, Kentucky is a heavy favorite over Kansas.

goodin-112x150.jpg

Quentin Goodin

Point Guard

6’2″, 165 lbs.

Campbellsville, KY (Taylor County)

Unofficial visit to UK on 1/18/2014, 10/18/2013 (Big Blue Madness), 9/21/2013

With Kentucky and Louisville yet to offer, Indiana, Michigan, and Tennessee have made a surge for Goodin, but Kentucky’s still interested. John Robic went to see Goodin play back in late April, and he’ll play for the St. Louis Eagles this summer, the same EYBL team as Jayson Tatum.

Derryck Thornton Sr.’s long relationship with the basketball coaches at the University of Kentucky — dating to when he coached Enes Kanter at a California prep school — has helped create mutual recruiting interest between the Wildcats and Thornton’s son, Derryck Jr. of Nevada powerhouse Findlay Prep.

The younger Thornton, rated the No. 3 point guard and No. 17 overall prospect in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com, has become a target of many major programs, and his father said UK could offer a scholarship soon.

“Kentucky’s re*cruiting him heavily,” Thornton Sr. said.

Thornton got his offer from UK this weekend on his visit.

Derryck Thornton will be visiting Big Blue Madness this coming fall as well now.

I saw Josh Jackson twice as a Freshman and once as a sophomore. I would love to see him in Lexington , the kid was dynamic and smooth every time I watched . The one game I saw him play as a Freshman he exploded against Detroit power Pershing High School. I had gone to watch James Young in the first game and stayed to watch Josh Jackson and left very impressed.

Eron Gordon is visiting on Monday.

Arkansas shooting guard Malik Monk got a offer and add him to the list:

Another offer

Arkansas shooting guard Malik Monk has a scholarship offer from Kentucky, his brother Marcus confirmed to the Herald-Leader on Thursday.

Monk — a 6-4 prospect in the class of 2016 — is regarded as one of the best perimeter scorers in the country, regardless of class. In a Nike EYBL game this spring, he scored 59 points and made 10 of 16 three-point attempts. Scout.com ranks him as the No. 5 overall prospect in the class.

He told the Herald-Leader last month that he is a big fan of Calipari, has known former UK guard Archie Goodwin since seventh grade and pays close attention to the Wildcats program. "I watch every Kentucky game," he said.

Monk is the eighth player from the class of 2016 to receive a UK scholarship offer.

Eron Gordon is visiting on Monday.

Eron has been ruled ineligible to play this year by the IHSAA due to his transfer. Said it was for "athletic reasons" which means he has to sit out his JR year. Family is appealing.

[h=2]Expect to hear the name Malik Monk a lot in the near future[/h]

When it comes to the name Malik, many Kentucky basketball fans have become accustomed to hearing about 2015 5-star played Malik Newman, who is a big target for Kentucky. One of the risings stars in the class of 2016 shares the same name, and you should expect to be hearing a lot about him in the future. Malik Monk is the 6th rated player in the class of 2016 and garnered a lot of attention this weekend at the Peach Jam, dropping 40 points in front of Coach Cal and Bill Self, among others. Calipari reportedly could do nothing but shake his head at some of the long range 3-pointers Monk was burying in one of his games last night. Calipari thought he was important enough to watch that he made the trip BACK from Lexington to Augusta AGAIN last night after hanging out with LeBron just to catch Monk in action.

Adam Zagoria reported earlier today that Kentucky has extended an offer to the 5-star shooting guard from Arkansas. Monk also already holds offers from the likes of Kansas, Arkansas, Florida and Baylor.

[h=1]Kentucky Basketball Offers 2016 5-Star Small Forward V.J. King[/h]vj-king-stv-stm.jpg

Kentucky offered 2016 five-star small forward V.J. King on Saturday night, according to a report by USA Today’s Jason Jordan.

King is a 6’7″, 185 lbs. wing who originally hails from North Carolina, but moved to Akron, Ohio to play for St. Vincent-St. Mary, the alma mater of LeBron James.

However, King and his family will be on the move again shortly as he plans to attend Paul VI in Fairfax, Virginia for his final two years of high school.

He is a super athletic and very skilled perimeter prospect with incredible upside. His length and athleticism allow him to guard multiple positions at the court at a high level. Offensively, he can handle, pass and knock down shots with consistency from short, medium or long range.

King does not have a list to this point, but the early favorite in his recruitment has been Ohio State because of his affiliation with St. Vincent-St. Mary and because it’s the only school he has visited thus far. That may very well change now that King has relocated to Virginia.

He also holds offers from the likes of Arizona, Georgetown, Wisconsin and UNLV. Kansas and North Carolina have also been in contact, and many other big offers are surely on the horizon.

King is Kentucky’s ninth confirmed offer in 2016. John Calipari and company have offered just one other small forward in the class: Jayson Tatum.

Junior standout Jayson Tatum has “very high interest” in Kentucky

By LARRY VAUGHT

The 6-8 Tatum is regarded as a shooting guard even thought he believes he could play small forward, or even power forward, in college if he continues to grow as he expects.

Big-time college programs like Kentucky, Duke, North Carolina, Kansas, Florida, Michigan State and more would like to have him. His father would like to see him stay home and play for St. Louis.

“Any school is a possibility. It’s just where I feel most comfortable at with the coaching staff,” Tatum added. “I have roughly 16 or 17 offers, but it’s not overwhelming at all.

“Recruiting, it really never stops. I am almost always talking to coaches every day. I will probably narrow my list going into my junior year. Kentucky, I have a very high interest in Kentucky. Great program and coach Cal (John Calipari) is a great guy and great coach. I really liked what they did in the (NCAA) tournament last year.”

His high school team came to Kentucky to play a game in Lexington last year and Tatum says they might play in the Bluegrass again.

“We had a great experience last year,” Tatum said.

He and 2016 point guard Derryck Thornton have discussed playing together at the next level, and UK, UConn, and Michigan are recruiting them both. Otherwise, Duke is considered the favorite for Battle, who also has offers from Louisville, Syracuse, Indiana, Arizona, and others.

Here’s the Big Blue Madness guest list as of now:

2015: Charles Matthews (committed), Carlton Bragg, Brandon Ingram, Stephen Zimmerman

2016: Tyus Battle, Derryck Thornton

2016 PG Derryck Thornton also drops out of BBM. Planning to visit for the Missouri game in January now.
